  1. And they are! :D The first thing I thought of was Shige or Horiyoshi III. The Yellow Blaze site only shows a phoenix on a woman but Horiyoshi's got a dragon up there though: Horiyoshi III Official website | Tattoo Portfolio Go for it!
  2. OW! @Bunny Switchblade, I remain glad you're back on here. :D
  3. Was gonna mention Millie Hull but on a quick perusal she doesn't look too big.. Fun project: everyone check your libraries tomorrow to see what we can find!
  4. Welcome dude! Does Levi always refer to himself in the third person?
  5. You will look no more "ridiculous" with tattoos than anyone else! Get tattooed, get what you want, fuck the world. I don't tattoo so I can't answer your questions about working with skin and placement but I can't imagine it's that much of an obstacle. @Shawn Porter posted a video a while back on his OV blog, an awesome awesome Dave Lum video, where his shop helper -- a woman -- was talking about how she hated her legs and her butt. How she was self conscious and never thought she'd get tattooed there, but once she did get some coverage on those areas, she loved them. Maybe the only big folks you're seeing with a significant amount of work have some not-so-great tattoos.. or maybe you're just freaking out cause you've only got one so far. But if you've got the itch, you've gotta scratch it, and everyone else can go to hell. Truly. Apologies if this was too strongly worded.. I had the night off, some beers were consumed. The only people I don't like with a lot of tattoos are dickheads regardless of their tattoos.
  6. @ltholley killer! I missed getting tattooed by Matt when he was over here in NY at Three Kings, wanted to get one of his crazy ass spiders. Crazy-ass spiders.. not crazy Ass Spiders.
  7. LST, slowly gaining more Nordic followers.. Welcome!

    hey

Welcome, D, and nice tattoo post!
  9. Names Shmames. Looks great, and if you love it, that's all that matters. And if you've got a local shop churning out quality tattoos, you're in a great position. Well done and don't be afraid to post the next ones up!
  10. Less is more buddy! Sounds like you may be paying it a little too much attention.. Let your body heal itself and let the wound actually get time to heal before you start dousing it with water and lotion.
  11. You mean other than the "Edit Post" button?
  12. Let's all agree to let this thread die the same natural death it did a year ago.
  13. Funny, I thought I'd have a different response to this but when I thought about it, my answer is, "I don't." Could be because I'm getting older, or because I no longer have to ride the train to work, or a hundred other things, but when I thought about this and read the responses, I realized that tattoos are a much smaller part of my outward life than they were previously. Which doesn't mean I don't spend way too much time looking/reading/giggling/whatever, just means that I don't use them to identify myself as much anymore. I'm much less a "tattooed person" as I am a person that has tattoos. It's not a "lifestyle," it never was. I will say though, when spring/summer hits and the shorts come out, I definitely notice some looks, and I realize some are involuntary. But at this point, I've pretty much stopped caring. I don't know if this makes sense, I just got off work and there have been many shots tonight.
  14. Welcome! You do some great tattoos, man. You guys make it over to the London convention this year?
  15. Flyrite in W'burg, Three Kings in Greenpoint, True Blue in Queens (only shop I've visited in Queens).. Lots more. TTW seems to keep up for the walk-ins. I'm less familiar with Manhattan. But there's a ton in the west village! winkwinknudgenudge.
  16. I would just drive dude. You're not gonna wanna get on the train then pile into a bus afterwards. Parking's usually not bad over here.
  17. Ha, awesome. The Richardson. You two are one great looking couple! Woulda said hello but it was pretty busy and I would've undoubtedly been awkward.
