A partner thread to the stares thread because of a little exchange the other day. Walking down the street in my running clothes towards a pack of super loud teenagers you'd usually wanna smack around with a rolled up newspaper (or, around here, maybe worse..). Obviously just out of school, running around like little assholes.. always puts me on edge. Goddamn kids! But I walk by and they all quiet down and just kinda look at me and once I passed one kid goes, "Hey dude, we like yo tattoos!" No laughing, just stayed quiet. I said "Thanks buddy!" And I thought, man, I'm such an asshole for always thinking the worst of these kids, that was a really positive exchange.. even if it was them kinda staring at me. I guess I woke up on the right side of the bed today! Anyone got good, positive stare stories? I know there are a few buried in the stares thread..

Got this little guy from Nick Rodin at Black Heart last week! Always wanted a tattoo with tattoos. We all know it, but I'll state the obvious here: great shop, great dudes, seriously great time.. I got the cute tattoo and my lady got a super tough eagle from Cody Miller, which I'll have to get a picture of once it's healed.

Dude, seriously! Where'd that guy come from? Met him super briefly last year in Philly at the convention and at the behest of @Perez began following his work. Good stuff and seems like a good dude.

Have not, but I popped into their store in Philly a couple years ago when it was still there and everyone seemed surprisingly cool.

Whew, nice to see you posting again dude. Also, nice to see a post that's thoughtful and possibly the only apprentice/career-related post in recent memory that's legit. Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders and that you already know what you need to do. I can't speak from a tattooer's perspective, but from someone who's worked in two shops with plenty of issues, it sounds like you're on the right track.. if you gotta leave, you gotta leave. This "mass exodus" -- seems like everyone who was teaching you basically left? Hopefully some folks can give you some advice on here.. Good luck dude, and I'd be willing to bet you land on your feet.

Well, another rousing evening of beers and hanging out with @slayer9019! Glad you made it out dude, hope you got home safe.. Didn't mean to let you wander for pizza by your lonesome, had to get back inside and help the new dude. Good hang out though! Next time we'll do your place on the LES.
