I'm on there my user name is, yup you guessed it, Ursula Thomson. I use it to collect images of fashion I enjoy as well as wedding ideas. Good way to keep it in one place and be able to click that image and go right to where it came from. Plus I really, really like shopping.

free sailor Jerry tattoos, nyc, chicago, New orleans
Ursula replied to slayer9019's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
I saw a lot of shops posting pictures on instagram yesterday for free/cheap SJ tattoo events across the country. They were all showing lines around the block, super packed standing room only inside the shops, etc. I also saw a few people post their 'daily sheets' as we call them back home. The one where you write down all the tatts you did that day. Some of these guys made a lot of money yesterday, and some did a lot of tattoos and made nothing off them. I dunno how I feel about the whole thing. I wouldn't wait in line all day for it, but then again I can get a free or cheap sailor jerry tattoo whenever I want. I did think it was interesting that someone said in the other thread on this topic that Sailor Jerry himself didn't drink and hated cheapskates. -
It bums be out pretty hard that the ladies shirts are twice the price of the mens.. booooooo

Mind. Blown. Thanks for giving me another outlet to shovel money into.

Gotta take a break from being an online asshole every now and then, keep that shit fresh ya know.. hahaha.. @JAllen "I'd rather look like some faceless bikini football slut then show my face beside your awful tattoo"
-
well if that first tattoo is the standard to live up to when getting college football tattoos, no wonder most of em suck.. wtf.. that thing isn't the worst i've seen by far, but it's miles away from being great. I'd say it's an o.k tattoo, but I'd never go to the artist who did it.

@slayer9019 There is a section called "stuff for sale" here on the forum. There has been art offered in the past there. -

Oh I forgot to say, if you do check out the headband brothers site, make sure to pay special attention to the link that says "Devita Artwork For Sale Here". His stuff is really cool and he's a really super nice guy. -

Tattoo Elite International always has good flash for sale. (goggle tattoo elite international) You could also check out Headband Brothers where you will usually find some really great paintings from Scott Harrison and others (google headband brothers or scott harrison) Dan Higgs has some paintings up for sale on his blog (google higgs gallery) If you google 'blackheart tattoo blog' they often have information on art and prints for sale by all the guys who work there. Very awesome stuff. If you go on Facebook and search out "deep six graphics" he makes prints for a lot of tattooers and always knows who's got something cool for sale. If you ever are in New York city I'd suggest Black Gold Records and Antiques for their selection of awesome art and curios. I'm sure it's easy to find their info online. Lots of people here have their blog or shop linked in their signature or profile and I know from checking them out that lots of them have art and prints for sale as well. Personally, my two favourite paintings (that I own) are by Robert Ryan (who I'm sure you can find contact info for online, his stuff is really amazing and reasonably priced) and the other is by 'Taco Warewolf' who you can also find online, it's not tattoo related but I love it. The favourite prints I own are the panther girl by Mike Wilson (you can buy it on tattoo elite international or from him at conventions/his shop) and my dude owns some really rad Jeff Rassier prints that you can probably get on the Blackheart website or by contacting them at the shop. anyways hope that helps ya a bit! -
Face tattoos can be the worst or the best thing ever. Just don't be the guy doing the type of shit in the first photo!

Pictures of old photo realistic/ non-outlined tattoos?
Ursula replied to Kev's topic in Crazy Tattoo Stories
I think it's like getting any tattoo. The better the artist the better the tattoo will hold up. I kind of doubt white stays for the long run no matter who's putting it in though. -
I like the 'dislike' idea. I know on youtube if I see a video that has way more dislikes than likes I know it's gonna suck and don't bother with it. Maybe it would be help people who don't know a good tattoo because then they can say oh well 50 people have disliked this and only one has liked, I guess I shouldn't go to someone who does work like this.

And then a girl got this on her forehead..

Ahhhhhhh, I knew there was a reason that dude looked so familiar! -

I'm Canadian and I can assure you, "gangsters" here are soft as fuck. I also thought it was ridiculous to say oh i really want to meet the girl but the dude who did it is a fucking asshole. So if it's cool for the girl to get it then how isn't it cool for him to do the tattoo? She's just as dumb for getting it as he is for doing it......... I would watch a video of Kevin fighting Drake hahaha -
"You suck at darts," "Yeah? Well I'm a cop" *BLADOW*
Ursula replied to exume's topic in WTF in the News
Further proof that being a cop doesn't mean you're smart/cool/educated/not a complete fucking asshole/have any brain in your head, etc. Especially in America. I had a cop in Florida say "for all I know you could be a terrorist, they did come from Canada after all" this was his reaction to us having run out of gas and then finding out I wasn't from there. Obviously no where near as fucked up as this story but you know, cops aren't any smarter than your average high school drop out for the most part. -
All tattoos scab. It's part of the healing process. It sounds to me like you're putting lotion on to often. Sensitive skin is rarely the problem that causes fading/scabbing/anything else. There's also a pretty big chance you're just going to a shitty artist.

hahahahaha yeah that big red square is going to make zero sense to people not following along...

Hand and/or neck tattoos but nothing else...

@Scott R most I've just met at conventions or things like that. I haven't had a chance to get tattooed by a lot of them, but I hope to! Not too many cool tattooers come to Canada too often, and lately I've been stuck here.

In my experience most of the "famous" tattooers I've met have been super nice people. Oliver, Tim, Scott, Rassier, Lehi, Juan, Darren Brass, Mike Wilson, I know there's more I can't remember at the moment, none of them were rude, or acted like a big man on campus when I met them. Oliver actually really surprised me by remembering who I was after meeting me once and not seeing me for a year or two after that. I am one of the many who has tattooer their initials onto his arm. He was super hospitable every time I've been to Dallas and has treated my fiancé (a tattooer) really really well and given him great opportunities to work at his shop. Tim was also super nice to me even though I unknowingly had creeped him out earlier haha. Mike Wilson has given more to me and my fiancé then we could ever thank him for. So basically I don't think getting even more crazy famous is going to make Oliver untouchable to those who really want to get tattooed, just might take a little longer.

Do what Tim said! Go to HardyMarks.com and buy every thing they currently have available so in 5 years you won't have to pay $200 for a $40 book. Worth it at either price though. Make your money back doing one tattoo out of each book. Check out the Book Mistress too. Even though I don't really like her, she's got some older out of print books on her website from time to time. Both websites charge out the ass for shipping outside of the USA though, so be warned if you aren't living there.

@Scott R I gave my tattoo appointment with him to someone i was friends with at the time because I figured I'd have lots of chances to get another one. Now I totally regret it because a) the girl i gave it to, turns out she sucks and I'm not friends with her anymore b) probably won't be so easy anymore.
