I do not give a shit what this or other forums advertise, directly or otherwise. I did not wake up this morning and think " lets go piss someone off", in fact the opposite - I had a question and thought that the people on LST would be cool enough to advise me. Sorry that this pisses so many people off, perhaps I am just not used to angry people, or perhaps I am used to seeing the eyes of those who talk down to me... Perhaps I do not see tattooists and their art as some secret that needs protection. I have been getting tattoos and been hanging out with tattooists for as long as most people on this forum. I have pumped a decent amount of money, and time into the industry, and I do not need yours, or anyone else's permission to ask for a bloody DVD review.

Funny, just as I logged on I saw an adwords advert in the top right hand corner of the forum... Tattoo Machine Gun Tattoo Gun Price From $8.12- $52.99 Big Selection & Free Shipping Tmart.com: To Be the Best Mart for Cheap Items You Want. I wonder if they sell dvd's. Anyway, my original question was innocent, so if Scott or anyone is offended than I am happy to apologise. I came here to discuss, read, view and learn more about tattoos, not to argue moot points.

First off Stewart, if you do not like my posts feel free to ignore them. They usually have my name beside them and I would be more than happy if you passed them by. If those DVD'S annoy you so much perhaps you should give Micky Sharpz a shout, I am sure he will be interested in your thoughts on the sharing of tattoo information. Oh by the way, as far as Wikipedia is concerned "In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory , extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion" Hmm Stewart... MsRad, to be honest I was just browsing Ebay and found the listing for the DVD, it had no real info but seemed interesting. My wife is a tattoo apprentice, tattoo machines are expensive, I like fiddling with tools and machines, why would I not want to know more about them? I thought I would come on here and see if anyone knew anything about the DVD ? As I mentioned I have no interest in making machines. While this is Scotts forum, I am sure he is far from concerned about my interest in the workings of a machine and I know the thought of me cornering the market will not be keeping him awake at night. As for free torrents - well that is not really my thing, I know artists who rip of flash, and dvds and books, but I have to much respect for the industry and the artists, but if you can pm me the link to the ebay listing I would appreciate it, I am in Ireland and found nothing in Europe that was not brand new and expensive.

"I quit!" how to stay friends when you leave a shop...
Bubbleberry replied to Lizzie's topic in Crazy Tattoo Stories
If I trained someone who has talent I would expect them to open their own shop, but If I owned a shop and I heard youo telling clients that you were opening a new venture I would be annoyed. Each situation is different, but I would say that the pie is more than big enough, but not nearly as big as the egos. As an artist I would want to give 2 weeks notice. As a shop owner I would want two months. But as long as you do what you would want your staff doing to you, as long as you are honest and keep your side of the street clean then it will be fine.- 19 replies

I can't, the whole thing is freaking me out...

Why do people feel the need to be smart asses about everything? Jeez, its not like I am going to start selling the bloody things on ebay? Anyone fancy answering the original question ?

I used to live in Holland -they serve beer in the cinema, and at the time allowed smoking... nobody ever had to tell me to be quiet...

You want to know, Honestly?

I have no intention of being an artist, and while I understand your logic, I am not sure I agree. In high school half the kids had nasty home made tattoos, some with good old indian ink and needles, some with more complicated contraptions using bits of door bells or toothbrushes. Despite the title, there is little secret about the majority of tattoo guns, but none the less, as my wife gets into her training I find myself more and more intrested in the mechanics of the machine. If I can take apart cars and scooters using a manual I can do the same with a tattoo machine.

by Micky Sharpz is for sale on Ebay for about £55.00. Seems a bit sharp for a dvd. Has anyone seen it, is it any good, can you recommend an alternative?

So my wife has been working away as an apprentice to a well known local artist who has been in the business about 30 years. She did her first tattoo yesterday, and while many who have been in the industry for years may not think much, it it impresses the hell out of me... I have to say that she had only two hours due to time restraints so she will be doing more work to the same piece, but for a start I think its great...
-
This thread makes me laugh, in an uneasy, nervous way...
-
Being honest, it still sounds like a drag... Six hours for two hours of tattooing sounds pretty shoddy, and all the previous posts about artists preparing the night before were obviously not applicable. I find it hard to see why he would need four hours to prep this piece, especially if he is experienced? I would urge a huge lump of caution prior to letting this guy tattoo your whole leg, why not post some photos of his work and get the opinion from some of the artists here before you go any further.
-
Ok, not wanting to be an ass, but what do you mean by "3 hours to draw it". You arrived at the shop he spent three hours drawing either on your leg or on paper, then your total tattooing time was 3 hours? Does this tattooist have a website?
-
How many hours was that?

looking for advice on pricing paintings...
Bubbleberry replied to smiling.politely's topic in Paintings and Prints
I think its just hard to separate the life and the style...Ed Hardy has lived the tattoo "life", Christian Audigier, has had more to do with bringing tattoos into "style" than Ed Hardy. I suppose whether or not that's a good thing, depends on your perspective. Were Hardy and Audigier not to make the cash dash, no doubt someone will, so for now I will try, hard as it may be to seperate my thoughts on Ed Hardy as a Tattooist and Ed Hardy as a business man. Oh Shannon, I loved the one of the chicken/rooster, the rest are a bit to graffiti art for my liking but fair play to ya ! -
I suppose though, its not to much to ask, that you are made to feel just that little bit special, that the artist cares about you just a tad...after all, you are giving him a large chunk of skin, to do what he wants on, and its sort or, well, permanent. Feeling that the artist appreciates you giving him a large wad of cash at the end of the process, when you could have chosen hundreds of other artists, is , I assume, another story.

Tattooers with little to no tattoos

Sort of how I feel, but then again I am not an artist, but hope that if I was I would still have an open mind.- 221 replies

I go with Jake on this... if he/she has a reputation to uphold then you can be sure you will get decent work whatever the history, but a whole leg is a lot of flesh to give to someone you are unsure about, and in that case it matters little what he/she does with your design. If unsure cancel and give them plenty of notice.

This looks awesome !

You know, this may not be what you want to hear, but it may actually be good for business. You have been there for long enough to have earned a decent reputation. The opening of the new shop will generate industry in tattooing, but when it comes down to it, they will go to the one who is established every time. The new guy might get some glory, but it will be a while before he gets any real custom, as he is unknown. It does suck that you have to go through this but competition is good for business. I would stop thinking about him and think about how you can up your game, your marketing, your business.

My question really is, reality tv or ed hardy - biggest impact?
