  1. same thing I said to MsRad. Start small, try the safety course. I've usually got people up and running in a few days for the basics. It is cheaper than most people think if you start with a small, older bike. just remember dont skip on the gear. Dress for the crash not for style.
  2. if you do want to learn to ride just take one of the safety courses. They usually teach you on 100cc-200cc bikes, and everyone tells me they are pretty damn good (and cheap!) at least here in NJ. As for a first bike I would check out craigslist for a older 70s-80s Yama/Kawi standard as they are user friendly and CHEAP! Plus if you drop it (which almost everyone does) you will not cry at replacing anything. Rebels are nice as well, but a bit heavy. I personally prefer motards (dirt bikes w. street tires) as they are light, cheap to fix, and very very durable.
  3. Does anyone know how long ago these episodes were filmed? I just realized that Invisible looks different now.
  4. I would saying tattooing someone is very similar to surgery but it does not work both ways. Inserting ink into someones skin to me is minor cosmetic surgery, BUT slicing and dicing someones face is not like giving a tattoo. That being said it is like apples and oranges, both are fruits but they are not the same.

    Hey

@Stewart Robson As said by Ursula, thanks for sticking around
  6. would be better with some blair's 3am reserve!
  7. WallStats - Death and Taxes & Taxes Very very interesting info-graph of where our tax money goes. Check it out!
  8. Funny you say that I've been told that quite a lot recently. Two of my buddies live in Austin now. While Texas will be a place that I will buy a house in the next couple of years, I'm not too sure if I will live there just yet. I'll be back there again for work soon and maybe get a new opinion but Cali looks awesome so far (weather wise it is EXCELLENT!)
  9. 900? Wow that is VERY cheap to compared to NYC, so is 1100. My buddy pays 1200 for a studio in the suburbs (45 minuet train ride). I pay an absurd amount currently and might even save money considering. Just paid a ridiculous amount of money for cigarettes (13.50!) today....adds to another reason to move!
  10. I am interested to see how much more or less expensive it is. I know NYC can be STUPID expensive if you aren't smart ($15+ beers??) I'm a traveling software consultant and fly all over the place anyway, so I can live pretty much anywhere.
  11. I thought about it bit more and thought of it this way... I compare it to Jackass (and other similar shows). It's hard to watch it, yet you do. You don't condone it (or do it) but sadly people will watch it and replicate (or attempt and fail most likely)
  12. Contemplating moving to California in the near future. (Looking at San Fransisco bay area currently). Currently living in the NYC/NYC Area....need a change! Thinking about making a week trip soon out there to get tattooed anyways (not sure who yet). Knowing that a lot of you guys/gals live in the area, any suggestions/tips/warnings?
  13. I'm about to sign up to get Regino Gonzalez at Invisible to get a lady head on my bicep.
  14. I saw this yesterday on Needles and Sins. I kinda agree with them that it was not a great idea but kinda..."cool". I personally would never get tattooed by a prison-style tattoo "gun" regardless if it was a professional using said "gun".
  15. Two questions if anyone cares to answer. I'm thinking of getting a foot done over a short break I have coming up in a week. 1. How well does it hold 2. In 3 days could I be back to commuting 3 miles by foot everyday?
  16. I checked it can be done no problem, if any mods care to know how to do it just PM me.
  17. I have hung out at the shop twice so far while my friend gets his tattoo worked on. Place is the best shop I've ever walked into so far. Everyone's really nice. Going to drop a deposit Monday for a few tattoos Im getting done.
  18. Is there a way to impose a post limit before a person can start a thread? I know other forums I am a part of do the same (usually 25). This lets (forces) the poster to understand the nature of the forum (do's and dont's) before they open a useless thread. It also forces new members to use the search function before firing off a thread without looking first. Just a suggestion!
  19. nice tattoo and the placement couldnt have been better
  20. wow did not look into that too well. that looks damn cool. I've seen this attempted in the past but now that wacom threw in their attempt it would be nice to try it again.
  21. Yes Wacom tablets are amazing! I've had one for a few years now and recommend them highly to everyone that can (or cant) draw....absolutely amazing!) Plus side is the pressure sensitivity is bang on.
  22. Just yesterday I saw this almost completely blacked-out tattooed guy in a book that was at around 80% coverage using the negative space to make a few designs. This stuff is crazy! I am thinking most people get it as a cool coverup. Below is a reference, just imagine less skin more black!
