  1. Is this guy related to bubbleberry?
  2. They aren't guns by any definition.
  3. It would only be similar if you had to ride that first bike for the rest of your life and carry it with you wherever you go. Sometimes you need to put down the wrench and bust out the manual and do a bit of research before you make any simple mistakes.
  4. I think it does come down to the person. A friend of mine brags all the time about how all of his tattoos cost as much as 1 session for me. I say that good work doesn't come cheap and even point on the quality lines in my tattoos compared to the shaky/blown-out lines in his. No matter what he refuses to go to any reputable shop that I mention. People that want a cheap tattoo usually enjoy the idea of having a tattoo more than the image itself and will probably go with the lowest bidder anyway, so I wouldn't bother wasting too much time with them.
  5. I always questioned these stats. Hoe would they know if I had a tattoo or how many? Actually few people know who I am and have seen them as I usually cover them up.
  6. I'll pm you when I'm not on my phone and in front of a real computer. From the sounds of it you might need to fix the hyperlinks because they are default routing you back to the parent page.
  7. Since I never shaved my extremities, the first time I shaved my arm I ended up getting a ton of ingrown hairs. Now I just let him do it and never had the problem again.
  8. Have fun! Finding a good apartment in Brooklyn is damned near impossible. I suggest being ready to run out the door with a check because good apartments go FAST.
  9. I am actually using the term squidpants matter of factly when reffering to my leg tattoos. I wanna see if it catches on
  10. well they have at least overnigh to put their "raw talent" down on paper. He probably did a good search.
  11. For one thing, I find it hard for someone to write an article like this about tattoos without having a tattoo. It sounds from her article that she has some self-image issues. I also picked up that she has her own pretty well defined idea of what personal decoration is, which is fine but to say what looks good as a black and white fact is impossible since looks are all about opinions and not about facts. I prefer to tattoo my body, as some prefer to go to the gym, or buy "nice" clothes. I also find an attractive quality in girls that have tattoos, in the fact that they are confident enough to have one and also confident enough to commit to an idea for life. The attractive quality of other peoples' tattoos are not always about the actual image (although some can be amazing), it is more however the concept. Also my opinion about girls who go out of their way to look 'perfect' is actually unattractive, because it seems that they are not confident enough in their own skin.
  12. This has come up in a conversation with a friend of my. He decided to get a huge phoenix from his armpit down to almost his knee, but decided to first loose a ton of weight so it would look better. Before he did this I always thought that it would be best to get tattoos on yourself when you know that you are not going to have you body change (loose weight, gain weight, pregnant, etc). This now sparked the idea in my head to wait till I get a bit better in shape (damn you desk job) to get any tattoos on my torso. This also begs the question that if I get in good shape then I have to stay in shape at least for a good amount of time otherwise I can stretch the tattoos out when I get lazy again. I generally disregard the whole when you get old your skin wrinkles, as does your tattoo. My tattooer and I were talking about this and we agreed that "I can't wait to be that badass old guy with some tough tattoos". Only thing I take into account is to never again get any huge single-needle or overly intricate tattoos anymore, since they age terribly. Any ideas on this?
  13. calfs were pretty damn easy. Weirdly my bicep was the worst so far (and bleeds like a mofo)
  14. I agree! I could tell right from the beginning what the range of skill was. Imagine this same show with all amazing artists, it would take forever to debate and there would be a lot of disagreeing.
  15. http://www.wimp.com/scootermaster/
  16. Haha I actually experienced this. The cheaper guy did a tattoo that size and dificulty were the same as my awesome artist was but ended up costing literally three times the cost for lower quality work. I started to notice about halfway through the cheaper guy was running the clock.
  17. Actually I am! Not riding as much though. Where you at the empire drop 2 years ago?
  18. Yea maybe nobody talks to me because I'm a metal head dude with a shaved head that apparently looks pissed off all the time (as my friends say). I did actually remeber my sister saying she got cat called when she lived in bed stuy, but never when I was around. To me nyc just seems to be a bit 'colder' than other cities I've visited, save for the random homeless/gangster/drunk person.
  19. First off I would like to offer some kind of apology as a US citizen for the craptastic behavior exhibited by some of the locals. I have yet to see anything like this in the area I live (NYC). We are just too damn cold here to even strike up conversation with each other. Hell outside of the random crazy/drunk person, I have heard but a whisper spoken to me anywhere. I know in the southern and rural areas, people tend to speak up a bit more often in my experience. This did bring up a point I seemed to have forgotten though, and it is not personally aimed at you. As most people will know the US is a country of immigrants whether an immigrant themselves or a recent descendant of an immigrant. Something that comes up quite often with people who immigrate here is how much the US sucks and how much better home was... I just seem to notice this all the time and always wondered why people moved here if it is bad. I personally know that I am planning on leaving the country myself due to not agreeing with how stuff works around here all that much.
  20. Damn, and I thought I was getting a deal in NJ for a 1 bedroom 4th floor walkup, with no parking for $1200...
  21. maybe I've been in the NYC/NYC area too long, but $400, even 650-700 is CRAZY cheap. Hell, even Newark is a tad more expensive, and you couldn't pay me to move back!
  22. Oh damn straight out of my old hood! Oh yea and just to give you guys a heads up, when I lived in Newark I couldn't find one half-decent tattoo studio. He might actually be the best in Newark.
  23. I would really like to see this as well. Never read TAM, but it does look interesting. I personally would not care to read any technical stuff, but quality artwork and stories without all the usually BS would be awesome!
