  1. Hank is the ultimate cop. I highly doubt he would be the one to steal it. I think that he might be "going to war" with the new guys family/friends.
  2. Haha the other pizza place was closed too! Ended up running into that black metal dude again. Manhattan (LES) sounds good for next time. Maybe it'll coaxed some people out, otherwise it'll be another moderator meeting
  3. I have a pretty good tattoo that I kinda regret. With that said don't try to go to the cheapest dude you know cause you have to live with that shit. Nothing worse than wearing regret...
  4. In a week you can get some stuff done for sure, but like I said you can stay for a year and never see 10% of the city! Best way to break it down is to see what you want to do. If you want 1 tattoo, consider that day is going to be a non-tourist day. So for 2 tattoos consider 2 days tattoo days and the other "tourist" days. Also forgot to mention. The cost of a hotel will probably be by far the most expensive part of the trip (aside from tattoos). 5. Well being that I'm always in NYC I can't help you with travel (ask @Iwar he seemed to have found a cool place to stay), I can help with "things to do". NYC is as cheap or as expensive as you make it. You can eat and drink cheaper in NYC if you know where to go than you can in NJ. If you're looking to save money avoid the "tourist trap" areas. Example: TGI Fridays Time Square (Burger $20 and is sub-par), Stouts Pub near Penn Station (Bill for a few beers and burger will run you average $30 before tip. I go there sometimes due to proximity to Penn). To eat on the cheap you can do what I do: Example In Lower East Side my favorite part of Manhattan I go to Mikey's Burgers ($5 for the best burger you can get) plus Iggy's is $3 guiness all day (but a dive to the definition). You can also get some good brews at my favorite craft pub Top Hops down the street. Street food is amazing if you hit the right ones and very very cheap. Sam's Falafel (in the occupy wall street park) is $6 bucks for WAYY more amazing falafel than you can eat. Just remember food prices are all over the place in NYC, and price does not scale with quality all the time. With street food the longer line almost always means amazing food! Get an unlimited metro card. They work for buses and subways. They are your ticket around NYC. The subways run through the entire city and are usually pretty fast (way cheaper than a cab). Grab a NYC subway map app (NYC Subway Map App) for you phone and you are golden. Manhattan to Brooklyn can be a bitch depending on where you are going (if you go there). L train goes to Williamsburg and 2/3/A/C goes to the rest of Brooklyn, I usually get into Brooklyn then take a cab once there if need be. As far as places to go I might be a bad person to talk to as I avoid all the "tourist places" as I've been there done that when I was younger. I usually try to get people to see "real NYC" and go off the beaten path. You get to explore the awesome factor that NYC has SOOO much to offer. This also goes to say that the only problem with NYC is there are too many options. I've been here for over 2 decades and still am finding new and amazing shit all the time. If you've never been to a big city before prepare to be overwhelmed a bit. NYC is one of the biggest cities out there. This is not a problem though as you can skip a whole bunch if you want to. As far as getting tattooed...again WAY too many awesome options. Some tattoo shops to check out (not in any order). I would call ahead in case they are booked out. Invisible NYC Saved Thicker Than Water Three Kings Tattoo Daredevil Bailey Hunter Robinson (Although you can't really just swing by) Smith Street Places to eat/drink (that I like) Top Hops (Fancy beer, good prices and down the street from Invisible NYC) Sam's Falafel Cart (Also surrounded by 10+ really good carts in a park) Mikey's Burgers (Best burgers I've ever had, old-school new york style and also around the corner from Invisible NYC) Burger, Shot, Beer (never checked it out yet but it sounds really fun!) Two Brothers Pizza (these are all over NYC and while not the best pizza its $0.75 to a $1 a slice...not bad!) Adrienne's Pizza Bar (not NYC pizza but stupid awesome tasting) I might have left some stuff out. @gougetheeyes you got anything to add?
  6. No please don't. Remember tattoos don't come off that easily! Once you mark-up you skin it's pretty much there forever (save some very expensive and painful laser sessions). This coupled with the chance of infection should drive you away quickly. Drawing skills =/= tattooing skills. While being able to draw doesn't hurt, it is comparing apples and hamburgers. It is much easier, cheaper, safer, more atheistically pleasing not to mention a good deal more hygienic to go to a professionally. I love tattoos and will love getting them. This being said a shit tattoo takes hours to put on but can create a lifetime of regret. I know people who got coverups. They are the cheapest option to get rid of a bad tattoo, but are now about twice the size and the image has to be able to cover the mistake, which means you dont get to pick the exact image.
  7. First hello and welcome to LST. To answer you questions. 1) There are no pre-requisite tattoos needed to get tattooed. 2) As far as price, and design the best way (and only real way) to approach this is to go to tattoo shops around where you live (or travel if you'd like). 3) I don't have any shops myself but I am sure someone can jump in here to help fill in some local talent.
  8. Pat and I get there at 8-830ish. Swing by when you can. The Richardson NYC Directions - Google Maps
  9. For sure! I'll be heading in and get there around 8-830. Driving in so not 100% on exact timing (damn you traffic!). How is parking around there? @G.Uristti, @dirbab, @Jack you guys heading in?
  10. Give us a heads up closer to the time. We can figure something out.
  11. Well after being desk bound since Highschool I've lost all strength I worked hard to get and ballooned from 180 to 265 when I went to college. Back down to 219 now and continuing to work my ass off. Hardest part is getting my ass moving and need to quit smoking. My future rib tattoo is my serious motivation!
  12. Finally got some awesomeness to post up. Had a busy weekend! I picked up a Jeep which I took off-roading a bit. Picked up my friend did a quick tour of the 3 states around me (NYC, NY, PA). Next day we hit the shooting range, shooting the AK, S&W .45 and the S&W 500 till the barrels got hot (couldn't even hold the ak anymore! easily 1000 rounds each). Followed all up with a big party for some of our out of town friends that came in for a visit.
  13. You sir are my hero! I wish I could have seen both of them in their prime.
  14. Skeleton heads = awesome I have seen some realistic dragons. I got a couple pics I took last weekend for reference when I get it. Also when I read gangster clap, I didn't understand for a bit thinking they just wanted a tattoo of a gangster with the clap....weird
  15. I would say even if tattoos were accepted in the corporate workplace I would still cover them up. Hell I keep em all mostly covered outside of work. Also I now have a serious hate for suits now that I have to wear them daily. Only big positive is they are the most comfortable clothing for a fresh tattoo. Very airy, cool and a good suit doesn't stick to the tattoo as much. Only downside is I've had a fresh tattoo bleed black ink through my dress shirt in a meeting...woops!
  16. Holy shit! @Valerie Vargas you did a hellva job there! Also @MadeIndelible stop getting awesome tattoos....you're making me jealous! At least I know who I might be getting another ladyhead from...
  17. My favorite "ghetto" beer is Steelies (Steel Reserve). I started drinking them when I lived in Newark because they were A) CHEAP B) Readily Available C) high ABV. I always end up getting sick of OE
  18. Thought I would throw out a fun little encounter from yesterday. I was heading out to pick up a new Rx at CVS. Since I just left the doctors I was in gym shorts and a T-shirt. The lady filling out the prescription was staring at my leg that just got tattooed. Mind you it only shows about 2-3 inches out my shorts. I looked back at her until she noticed me looking back and got a bit embarrassed. She then said "Oh is that new?". Probably not help the situation, I just got a shitton of blood drawn, was fasting then got given a Xanax, I decided to do the following. I pulled my short leg up to my waist to show her my new tattoo and laughed. Looking back I pretty much showed my ass to half the staff at CVS! I did get a "O' shit that is wayyy bigger than I thought" comment and a "that looks crazy!". This again followed up by the obligatory showing of a small star tattoo she had and a quick synopsis of her future tattoos in the works. Sometimes people are just interested, and it is not staring in a bad way. I actually found most people who stare are just intrigued by us tattooed folk, especially if you got some cool tattoos!
