I think I understand what you are trying to say here. You are talking about making a tattoo that looks great now (especially realistic looking tattoos) and skipping the whole "bold will hold" rule. In my opinion it seems that tattoos look less like "tattoos" and more like "art".

Doing business with Marv Lerning: a cautionary tale
slayer9019 replied to Perez's topic in Tattoo Marketplace
Damn dude that is not a small bit of scratch. I have a feeling that since it's not a small group of people so it probably can't last that long. Reputations and hard to build, easily to lose and damn near impossible to rebuild -
Idk those rough tattoos look like they hurt way more than any punch I would deal out to a friend.

my buddy might swing by as well (not a forum member but a tattooed individual nonetheless)

I personally gave up the nice talk. I got tired since a lot of people I know started to get shit and I said...oooo nice. Now I yell at them but they dont listen. I think we need to start reinforcing what a good and bad tattoo look like.

Ready for the lethal combination I have found myself in? I am young, know a ton of good artists and worse I can afford to have a session a week all year long. It is hard to say no! I guess "no" is not in my vocabulary either unless it is "no make that drawing bigger". At least I found this forum to help steer me down the right path. As a double edged sword I also find that this site adds to the itch to get tattooed

Not to derail this thread any further but you should hit up the http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/lst-get-togethers-tattoo-conventions/1503-nyc-meet-up.html thread. I know we are due for a meetup soon enough.

First, let me start by saying as a disclaimer that I, as an independent poster, in no way represent Last Sparrow Tattoo. - (Sorry @Kev had to steal this line from you.) First point. Just because someone is a nice person or they are sick, doesn't mean they can't do bad things. A person's physical state or personality has no bearing on whether a course of action was right or wrong. Second Point. I didn't see anyone talking bad about the shop. Third Point. You stated that you don't know this forum (or read anything outside of this article), but you made generalizations about the going-ons of the forum and how it is unreliable. While it is the internet, in my opinion it is a very informative forum/blog site. Also you stated that ". No one ever gets outed for being unsterile or for overcharging for their scratch tattoos, but somehow this has made your 'recent news' list? POOR FORM GUYS!", there a a number of threads that we out people for being scratchers and any form of being unsterilized. Fourth Point. I personally trust the opinion of someone in the industry (some here have been in it for quite some time) over the thoughts of people outside the industry.

I would like to revive this thread a bit as I got a bit of new perspective recently when reviewing my next two tattoos with my artist (a traditional skull/dagger/snake on my inner bicep and a Asian dragon/phoenix from top of the foot to my knee) and realized that I have been getting tattooed at a minimum once a month for the last half a year or so and am booked out with him until 2013 and at least 1 more artist as well in the same time frame. This makes me wonder how much longer will I be able to get tattooed. While I love to get tattooed, I also love to get big tattoos which cover area quick. I have a feeling that I might have to take a break in 2013 to be able to conserve a bit of space for later in life. At the rate I'm going I would be done before I am even 30 years old! At the same time I am getting the tattoos I like from good artists and have always planned on getting a ton of tattoos. Has anyone else just about finished in this short amount of time?

Phoenix Tattoo Expo Brawl over Deposit (news story link)
slayer9019 replied to Kev's topic in WTF in the News
So many clues in that article point to me avoiding it like the plague. -
I do have to say this is what all tattoo shows on TV should be replaced with. It would be awesome to have a season two. I am willing to donate some cash to the cause.

My fastest and best healing I have ever had was with my last session, ended up loosing almost zero color and it was all healed up in about a week and a half. When I got home I washed it with very warm to hot water. Washed it 4-6 times a day and applied aquaphora to it at all time for the first 4 days, then switched to cleaning it 4-6 times a day and just using regular lotion after that, reapplying a decent amount of lotion to it the second it felt scaly. I actually use more lotion now because I realized that my clothes were soaking up a decent amount of the thin layers I've used before. Also I try to keep clothing off the tattoo whenever I can.

More script. As for this forum though it looks like we are starting to all get a lady head or two (as seen in the Feb contest/latest tattoo lowdown). -
