  1. Get what you want, not what other people like. It's your body and at the end of the day you have to wear it till your worm-food. As long as the tattoo is not regrettable in any way (joke tattoo?) or anything truly offensive (at your discretion) you will be OK. Remember everyone's threshold is different, tattoos in general are still not really "accepted" outside of the "cute upside-down script of 2 words", so be a "rebel" and do it! I have a Japanese tattoo and am nowhere near being of Japanese origin, but it looks great! (Oh yea FYI, from my understanding anything from "Norse culture/mythology", in Norway can be considered nationalist, which in turn is "bad") please any Norwegians correct me if wrong. To sum up...you have to live with it, so get what you want and don't let others influence the decision.
  2. I was at Saved yesterday in Brooklyn, another great experience in a great shop. It's very cool to go into a shop with all grade A artists
  3. Let me say first that I used yelp to help come up with my first shop. Not so good. If you look at the best shops in NYC most have little if any reviews so I can stand by it is not a good gauge of a shop plus helpers usually are harsh as all hell about anything outside of food

Sorry beat ya to it! (NYC to Chicago)
  5. Soooo, who is going again (other than those mentioned in said flyer)
  6. While I am no artist, I still think it looks light enough to be covered fairly easily. I say panther/snake combo simply because it's badass
  7. Sooooo just to clarify, everyone is meeting up at the show right? I'll probably be a bit late but I'll be there 115 Grand Street Brooklyn, NY
  8. From time to time I will have a little twitch on more sensitive areas (ex. armpit), but for the most part not really. I have never moaned etc but I did grimace pretty bad my last session. 2.5-3 hours of almost solid black fill in my innner bicep. It wasnt bad until he cleaned it over and over again, my pain tolerance just gave up. It's funny how much a paper towel and soap can hurt!

  10. Haha yea its good. Top hops has about 500 bottled and 20 taps
  11. Never been to any of those. I have a list of bars I like in the NYC Top Hops (LES, amazing beer) Peculiar Pub (Greenwich, Amazing Beer) Radegast Hall (Williamsburg, Bierhall good food+beer) We can also try a more food-biased location but I would ask @gougetheeyes for those suggestions.
  12. Holy shit that is expensive, but at the same time I'm surprised you can get it.
  13. I plan on getting something from Danse Macabre (Holbein). I you could like a post more than once.
  14. While I don't have any skateboard tattoos, I watched one get done. While getting my leg done at Rising Dragon, a guy came in with a longboard. I BSed with him for a bit about it. He ended up getting a on-the-spot tattoo of his board with the NYC skyline in it, and actually asked me if it look correct. Only skateboard-tattoo I've seen outside of stick-and-poke crap from when I was younger.
  15. Yea looks like my buddy is comin this time around. Date seems pretty solid at this point, now we just need a location.
  16. Yea I never really enjoyed the "learning process" of trick skating, or easily said getting fucked up alot. Sliding is much safer (in terms of broken bones) and just as rewarding, plus it was my only means of transportation for my entire time living in Newark! @Jake is a longboarder as well.
  17. I longboard (downhill, slides) no trick skating for me!
  18. haha yea everywhere I saw this article posted they were making jokes about the, ehem, other uses of this technology.
  19. Yea I read that yesterday on a nerd blog. I wouldn't worry too much as these tech companies are just really patent houses.
  20. I'm cool with Williamsburg or we could try peculiar pub in Greenwich. Possibly even not a bar just that bars pop up in my head quicker
