  1. To me it doesn't seem all that different when you get down to it. The reason I can't show up to work tomorrow with some hand tattoos is due to people feeling uncomfortable with me. It would not effect my performance one bit, but everyone around me would "feel awkward". I just think that they call it how it is in regards to why they want to ban it.
  2. Kindle apps are all free. No need for a kindle either. Use an amazon account to access the read.amazon.com link I posted earlier
  3. Guys it is available on the Amazon store (kindle). If you want to read it online use: https://read.amazon.com/ Tattoo Culture Magazine #1: Nicki Kasper, Crash, Jeff Gogué, Freddy Negrete, Mike Rubendall, Robert Ryan, Valerie Vargas: Amazon.com: Kindle Store
  4. Damn Iwar! Stop raising the bar! Guess it's off to get another appointment setup.
  5. Yea I wasn't referring specifically to your post, just to others in general. I agree with you. I remember my own foolish request when I started with "How much is a sleeve", etc.
  6. @Graeme looks like it hasn't launched just yet. Agree on the print copy. I like "real" magazines better than digital
  7. Any thoughts on style? I vote american traditional. Bold black with that color scheme will pop!
  8. @fourtotheflush while it would be nice if you got a response I realize that tattooers or any business has a preferred method of communication whether it be email, phone, etc. Facebook would probably not be the best as it is usually just a advertisement to the shop. @briankelly agreed that is a weird way to try and get an appointment but some people just don't know how it works. @Dan S I've noticed in my business (I deal with client relationship stuff as well) that everyone has a preferred method and there is no rhyme or reason to which is the "best". Some tattooers (a good portion) accept email only, even to the point if you show up to the shop they hand you a business card with an email address (hell I could SEE the tattooer and they said...email). Some others never respond to email and you have to call the shop directly to get a response. Then the last method which I have also have experienced is you must walk to the shop and talk in person otherwise you will just slip through the cracks. Even though I deal with new clients myself, even if they call me or talk face-to-face I always say email me otherwise they will never be in my queue. That's simply how I keep track. @fourtotheflush, even though all people reaching out are potential clients doesn't mean that anybody in the client facing position has to respond to every inquiry. Basically I agree and disagree.
  9. I do have to say I know this guy from another forum. He was a good guy and actually died recently by suicide. Sad to hear really as he was a very active member in the community.
  10. I would say 99% of forums run on only 1 of 3 major software platforms. Forums are like custom cars. All of em look different but most people run a GM smallblock under the hood!
  11. Hate to say that's kinda the point so you have a "chill" period to learn a bit. This is usually referring to a solid month or so as I've seen elsewhere. I suggest really abusing that search function and digging through all of the past threads, there is true gold to be found in the old stuff! On a side not not really directed at you but to new people in general with questions, generally MOST questions in regards to new tattoos/issues/aftercare/etc have been covered very well already. I can say for sure I have read every post on this forum by now. When I joined I read though most of the threads before posting. Generally on any forum if you jump in with a question right away, you get ignored or flamed. I treat is similarly to walking up to a group of people that are all friends and just interrupting everyone talking with a question. Options are being explored. As a mod on other sites, I can tell you nothing is a one-size-fits-all option. I've seen the uber-high post limit usually on motorcycle forums.
  12. Hellva name! Got my attention (I guess too much for laying low eh?). Welcome to LST! Any chances you can throw up a picture of a tattoo or two? We love that stuff here!
  13. Yea I'm really looking forward to next week. Really wish there was a print version though. (also i did bring this up in http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-tv-shows-documentaries-media/1843-tattoo-collector-magazine-still-print.html)
  14. @Stewart Robson, if you are still in need of some help I would be glad to lend my expertise. I'll shoot you an email today.
  15. Hey and welcome to LST!
  16. I missed it as I got screwed by work...again. Might try and swing by on Sunday and see whats up. Really sounds like it was a trip
  17. Hey welcome to LST! Where are you from and who do you want to get tattooed by so far? Any ideas?
  18. My opinion is if a person doesn't get tattoos because they are too picky, they are just making excuses to not get tattooed, which is fine, it's not for everyone. My sisters are both artists. My older sister is a Art Director and very picky. She has two tattoos, that yes did take a lot of direction but still got done. My younger sister is still trying to get that "perfect" tattoo aka not ready yet.
