Well please excuse my typos on a phone on a bus. I actually almost always go the route of minimal input on artists I like their stuff. You will most probably have to give at least a direction to go in. I mean my rule is 3 words or less. So far things have turned out OK haha. I got my entire leg tattoo from waist to foot off of two words and honestly it is fantastic. My suggestion is to just tell the guy/girl who is gunna tattoo you what your thinking. Also I wouldn't say "tattoo whatever". This has come up in another thread before and honestly I think you will want to give some direction. I mean would you be cool with anything and everything? I know @bunnyswitchblade has a couple of very interesting tattoos from just going that route but you better be willing to take what they give ya. If you like skulls, snakes, daggers, and eagles then say that. They will know what to do. Good luck with your new tattoo(s)!

June 2013 Tattoo of the Month Contest
slayer9019 replied to slayer9019's topic in LST Announcements & Contests
That is my thoughts exactly, but I don't want to stop anyone from submitting what they feel they want to. How does the saying go again, when it is just an outline it should look good, when it's shaded it should look finished and when it's colored it should look perfect. -
check out @Iwar's blog also we have a good stickied thread about traveling. http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/2506-traveling-tattoos-link-threads-blogs.html

Killer work! Welcome to LST

I couldn't get a free sailor jerry tattoo at one of those event things because apparently a 2x2" tattoo "wouldn't fit". Needless to say the tattooers looked at my like I was high.

@thesandmanisme there is also the possibility that people might not want to share their numerous reasons. As far as the ones I've seen generally they are identifiers of some type, etc, etc. Usually a bit more personal, I'm guessing.

June 2013 Tattoo of the Month Contest
slayer9019 replied to slayer9019's topic in LST Announcements & Contests
Just stating the official rules written by the mods like myself who run the contest. It generally would suggested you wait but people can submit as they go. Conversation or not I have yet to change the rules Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2 -
June 2013 Tattoo of the Month Contest
slayer9019 replied to slayer9019's topic in LST Announcements & Contests
Actually it does not have to be finished as per the rules: but it usually is in your best interest to wait until it is completed, or is similar to how I am getting my leg done which is in pieces. -
Well I know me and gouge are pretty close to your age.

So, it's been about a year I think since the last attempt, but I thought I would give it a whirl again. I want to try and do a little tattoo/LST meetup in NYC somewhere, either Manhattan or Brooklyn probably at a bar or similar venue. Nothing formal, just come if you want. I know so far it has just been me and @gougetheeyes so far, but I know there are a ton of you guys now in the NYC area. So to get a gauge of the room who would be willing to do this? I was looking at the day of July 21st (a Sunday) because I am getting tattooed every weekend from now till then, so I need a bit of a break. Please post up a comment. UPDATE: When: July 21st (Sunday) Where: Top Hops What: LST NYC Meetup #3

To @MoistTowelette, @Killercook76 and everyone else, we here at LST would prefer if you keep the price of your tattoos or quoted tattoos between you and your tattoo artist. Pricing is a touchy subject. If you want to know how much a tattoo will cost, go talk to the artist and get the tattoo. Throwing prices out really doesn't help people because it really is a personal thing between you and the artist. I will say though the person I went to with the highest quoted rate, has been the cheapest of all the artists I've been to, and the cheapest artist I was quoted was the most expensive.

Very jealous of your HoG tattoo! That is one that is in the works for me now, just gotta find someone to do it! Welcome!

I would say Etsy mainly, I know my sisters make a bunch of handmade stuff and they use Etsy. Also I would check out your local flea markets, etc. I know my sisters also work the Brooklyn Flea, and similar craft shows. My $0.02

Oh I was just correctly myself (car vs Jeep).
