First things first, Names Liz, 23 grew up in Bucks Co, Pa (20 mins north of philly) right across the river from Trenton, literally I crossed that bridge a lot, still do every once in a while. I'm a full time EMT (hence a lot of those medical replies of mine). I'm also a volly Fire Fighter, however now currently in Newtown (still bucks county) I spend my days hiking and frolicking about the woods all over the area and at night draw tattoos, for my friends, creep on here while playing COD.... or sitting at work contemplating what new shenanigans to cause. My first tattoo was when I was 18 and even though I hid it from my mom for 2 weeks she wasn't mad and pretty much figured I'd get one since I was little. My current gallery of ink is compromised of two half sleeves (mostly finished aside from underneath of my arms.) a back piece I plan on getting lazered and covered up, my t-rex leg piece and my wrists. I'll be finishing my right arm that's still in progress and then put my ink collection on hold until I get through the Police academy. To answer your thing about the "Trenton makes the world takes" it has to do with the area back in the 19th century. If you cross the bridge over to the pa side, and go down past morrisville you arrive at the Steel Mill, still in active use just not as used as much it was. Big on industry Trenton adopted the slogan way back and it stuck :) Trenton was big in making rubber, ceramics and cigars. It was shipped out at the port in the mill...Ok so I may be a slight history buff too :p

Yep, pretty much every one's hitting the nail on the head, think of your body as a we'll go with a bottle of water, the fluid chills mostly at the bottom due to gravity, and you as a person have to tip it so its parallel to the ground or almost upside down, to get the fluid back to the top, while our body pumps the blood back up extra work is still needed when we are standing up right. The body's best blood pressure is when we are laying prone, its been known for medics to lay a pt with low blood pressure flat because it will increase their BP a good 8 to 10 numbers up. its almost like when you stand up to quick and get dizzy and you immediately feel the need to lay back down, same concept. Keeping your feet slightly above your heart while laying down will defiantly help the blood flow and healing process move quicker. (Like what some of your are talking about the feeling in your legs) Try Aleve (over the counter Naproxen) works great for pain and swelling Hope that helps, sucks that your all the way over there in Japan. Edit: your pretty much just looking for a basic NSAID.. If they don't have Aleve, Advil or motrin will work as well (the aleve is a stronger one unlike advil and motrin)

Havn't you heard??? The only way to survive in life now is to Start a "puppy mill". if their not mass producing puppies their pushing out "tattoo artists" "emts" "paramedics" and several other career choices that if done wrong with out the proper schooling could severely F*ck some one up. It's sickening.

So after my ex decided to bag buying a ring and break up with me (1st excuse) because of all my tattoos, I said eff you and went and got these, inspired by Big And Rich's Raising Hell and Amazing Grace. I sat at home drawing this out as many ways as I could demons angels and then randomly wrote on both my wrists and that was it, I went and got it done, surprisingly as much as I'm in the sun they've held up rather well! Here is the song itself: YouTube - Between Raising Hell And Amazing Grace (Video)

This is why you don't piss off your paramedic, especially when he's simply cutting off your shirt to make you "trauma naked" sure the trauma you just put your body through by crashing your crotch rocket while doing tricks to show off to your gang buddy's.

Unfortunately I'm a young-un All I know of ed hardy is that he's one of the beginning artists who now all you see or hear of him is on merch. Ami I know some what more of, and I can kind of thank him for bringing back my will to draw again. I give respect to the "men of old" as is due, but to see his stuff every where like common flash, kinda depressing what we've combined both ami and him into. Guess I'm tryin to say its sad to see it (tattooing) so main streamed.

I've never had an artist forget about anything I was getting, and all of my work is custom. And fairly decently sized. Granted, I have had Amber call because she A) got sick and couldn't make it bc she was in the hospital or B) well i've not gotten a b yet. She has all my artwork for both my arms in a folder with my name on it, i'd be a little worried about that, kinda shows no professionalism

Good lord, Your fathers arms are a gift from God to paramedics! Very nice

Mine was a mistake, I had always wanted one, and the guy I was dating at the time came to pick me up for a date but never told me where we were going. I had even had a tattoo drawn up for my hip, ready to go but left it at home not knowing we were going to a tattoo shop on South Street down in South Philly. Essentially he told me that now was my only chance to get a tattoo and we weren't leaving until I got one. Thus forcing me to pick one off the wall of flash. (mind you south philly is about 30 to 40 mins from where I live) So I picked it off the wall, got rid of a few things and at the last min when the outline was done added color.. Personally it means nothing, except a reminder of my past mistakes. I'm looking to get it covered up some how. But any way, two days later waiting in line at a 7 eleven, the guy in front of me reaches out to hand the cashier his money and wouldn't ya know it, smack dab on his for arm lay the original line work for my brand new first tattoo.

Go big! I've started my thigh piece but am currently stuck as what to do with the back ground and top half of my leg, seeing as my back is going to be a samurai piece not quite sure how to get them to flow into each other..

Heh, so true, the bit about TCL's reasoning... Silly TCL tattoo's are not all about Tender Loving Care.

Think of it this way, the drag comes from the lack of carbon.. To start our body's breathing cycle starts when we (our body) sense's that we've taken in enough carbon and now we exhale to exchange for oxygen, so when we stop smoking because we are no longer breathing faster due to the amounts of carbon in our system we breath slower, which causes our body to be confused and feel drowsy. When you get your pulse taken at the hospital they can also take whats called your sp02 (pulse-ox) which actually measures the amount of CO in your blood stream. If you can next time you go for a physical get them to measure it, see what it is while your still smoking, and then see what it is after you quit. Its pretty cool to see the changes that occur. (or for extream results, get it measured, step out side and smoke one real quick then get it measured again) ....This is what happens when a Medic and an EMT get super bored.... We did a whole study on it one night. granted my lingo might be slightly off and I will be sure to correct it saturday night when we work together again.

The closest I've ever come to something like that was a photographer for Tattoo magazine at the Philly convention, I was laughing my ass off while getting tattooed. I'd never want to be on tv for some tattoo, and out of every "What ever location-Ink" the only person I'd want to get ink from is probably Tim. He seems more passionate about what he does. Where as the rest seem to be in it for the fame. But I doubt that will ever happen :-p

O_o wow thats... kinda creepy. But totally cool

My dad was an artist, and as far back as I can remember I got bored of drawin on paper and drew "tattoos" on myself. Though my dad didn't have tattoos and wasn't a tattooist. And my mom and brother have none.. Just always liked how they looked.. My mom wasn't surprised in the least bit when my bf at the time took me for my first one.
-
I'll go with my right arm, though My 3 latest tattoos are all amazing, and its a battle to choose between them, this ones almost done, need to finish the flowers on my chest and the chain from the watch to the fab. It's all about my dad and my memory of him and getting the closure i needed 8 years after he passed.

I've sat for any where from 15 mins up to 6 and a half hours.. which that last one absolutely sucked. The 15 min one was just to finish the outline on my chest piece, and the 6.5 hour one was for my leg, which was the worse, my artist kept waking me up to have me either roll over or move my leg.

Sleep helps too, I get all twitchy and unable to sit still if i haven't gotten a good night sleep, as well it hurts a decent bit more when I've not slept.

I found cutting down McDonald's straws or dunkin donut straws to cig's length and chewing them helped.. or chewing gum. that actually got me smoke free for 4 months before the stress of work got to me again.. Just something about kids that get to me. I've also found books, video games and the drawing keeps me entertained and my amount of time going out for a smoke is greatly reduced at home compared to time at work and the fire house.
