one of my ultimate favs. i was watching random Lucero live video's last night. perhaps we'll run into each other.

i saw them in July. all original members with ODB's son. one of the best shows i've seen. his son sounds almost exactly like him.

thanksgiving run down: field roast en croute with hazelnut and cranberry stuffing maple glazed brussel sprouts with dry roasted hazelnuts wild and brown rice pilaf with curried squash and cranberries mash potatoes with vegan sour cream corn caserole stuffing with apples herby salad with baby heirloom tomatoes, corn, and balsamic vinigarette home made cranberry sauce and home made gravy pecan pie bars chipotle sweet potato pie with coconut milk whipped cream and chocolate cookie crust. i made it a little too spicy but it was pretty good none-the less. might try a version cut with pumpkin later this weekend.

Lightlife makes Smart Bacon which is a vegan bacon substitute. it doesn't have the texture down really, but the flavor is there. not a huge fan of tempeh in general, buy i have had some good tempeh bacon over the last 6 months (mainly in Portland). anyways, i ended up not making this this morning and just snacked on some left over stuffing and vegan corn caserole.

my first real "punk" show was Al's first tour with dropkick at Warped Tour '98. i was 13 and my dad went with me into the crowd, then he got pushed around by some skinheads and afterward he told me i could go to any show i wanted to by myself because i handled the crowd so well haha. for my birthday, my boyfriend ordered me a happy "birthXcrisis" cake since i'm at my quarter life crisis marker. on the cake was a photo of me singing up front for H2O that he took at thee parkside. love those guys. first real show on my own with friends back in '99 at Slim's.

i've heard that about Lucero, but every time i've seen them, they've been spot on. i'm hoping that this weekend won't be the same. i'm so jealous of you going to that G.I. show. man, i love them so much. just saw Scream about a month ago.

becoming vegetarian was more of an experiment for me. i had a couple of health problems, including one that affected my heart. once i became vegetarian, those problems went away. i became vegan more for spiritual reasons than anything else.

alright, here's the scoop: -they're recording a new album -just signed to a new record label here in the US and Japan. didn't ask about shows, but did ask about getting together to make xmas cookies.
