it usually takes me 6 weeks. seems to be pretty consistent. initial scabbing is off 2-3 weeks in, and then the second healing period takes the rest of the time. like i've said before, i've got wonky skin though. and just for the record, it doesn't have to do with my diet, it was the same when i got my earlier work done and wasn't even vegetarian.

i'm not an expert, but as someone with skin sensitivity, it just sounds like there may be something in the ink that your body is not agreeing with and it's causing some extra swelling. my outlines almost always raise, regardless of who's tattooed me and what healing method i've used (routine or otherwise). could be a certain area of the skin that is reacting differently too (maybe it's less accustomed to being exposed or injured?). i don't know, sounds pretty normal to me. oh and every tattoo artist is going to have a different hand than others. some are more heavy handed, other's are less, regardless of quality. there's a few on here who i've been tattooed by and who i could tell you have created quality pieces, but who's work took a while to heal or the session was somewhat painful due to how they work. no biggie, just a part of the game.

so many things! yogurt like Alanna said, and anything with lemon. it's good with totmatoes in soup and fish too, though i'm not advocating consuming it.

because i realized i hadn't shared this yet... behold! the burrito cake! (it's a cake to made to look like a burrito, not a cake made out of said food item.) took me two weeks of secretive planning and 6.5 hours to actually create it. the pill bottle is to show the size ratio. it's been almost 2 years since this creation, and last year i was too busy/lazy to create anything meaningful, so this year i gotta have a comeback for Jackson's birthday. thought about doing a stack of records...

even so, if the person who was attending my car or serving me food happened to stick around for part of a public conversation with my friends, and then piped in, i would hope that most people would go with the flow of things, and not treat someone like a jerk just based on their occupation and what they are providing you with.

that's really shitty. do people just not understand that you are also a person and not a machine? totally rude and inconsiderate.

every guy i have had a fling or relationship with during the past 7 years has either been heavily tattooed or interested in being heavily tattooed...except Jackson. i mentioned this in another thread (i can't remember which one) where tattooing and masculinity were being compared, but Jackson is not heavily tattooed. in fact, he only has one tattoo, on his calf, and it is covered up most of the time. he's made record shopping more of a priority, and that's fine. what is funny is that before Jackson and i clicked, i really never thought i could be attracted to another who was not heavily tattooed or did not desire to be. and now, that we've been dating for 2 years, i sort of don't feel that same attraction to guys who are heavily tattooed. it's not that i don't see myself being attracted to someone who is heavily tattooed, but i also don't think that it's a deciding factor anymore. as long as someone can accept the fact that i am becoming heavily tattooed, then that's all that matters. Jackson has expressed being attracted to my tattoos and me becoming heavily tattooed, and it's nice to hear that he likes it. i know we're kind of the odd couple on this, as it seems like there may be more heavily tattooed men dating lesser tattooed women, but this relationship has definitely changed me and my perspective on the subject (and it works out just fine for both of us).

i've made coconut milk dulce de leche several times now and it always turns out great. i also made old fashion caramel for a cake at christmas (a not so pretty buche de noel, but it tasted great so ftw) that required no dairy and it was great too.
