  1. i really want to do a portrait series of tattoo artists, but i'm not sure if anyone would be interested. i'd use my 4x5 for them, and they would be shot in natural light in a setting picked by the artist. and of course, no nudity. just each artist as they are daily in a place that expresses them. if anyone would be interested in participating in this type of project, let me know, as i could get the ball rolling in December for it... i don't have a website, but i could email you examples of my work.
  2. agreed, that is a bummer, and missing steep ravine would be equally as much of one. well, should we change the date? tammy, dari?
  3. alright, alright, i know i might get some slack for this, but at this point i'm feeling kind of desperate. so ladies (or men who are knowledgeable on women's fashion), have any suggestions on where to find a cute dress? nye is the 2 year dating anniversary (yes, we're 16) for Jackson and i. i know it's not a huge deal, but it's an excuse for us to celebrate, go on an actual date (we have really different schedules, so our dates tend to be cuddling and watching a movie at 10pm), and enjoy some quality time together. i'm hoping to find something with a retro flare, under $75, and something that i'll want to wear again. so far, all of the choices i've made have either not fit me, or the site(s) i've found the dress on did not have my size in stock. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  4. that's the part i feel the worst about! people should become edge (or break it) because of their decision to be a part of it, not because it's been ingrained into their minds that they HAVE to be a certain way.
  5. alright, it's official! here is the posted event on the calendar: "Nor Cal Meet Up! first LST Nor Cal meet up post SFO Convention! come have some drinks and share a slice of pizza at Lanesplitters Pizza located at 4799 Telegraph Avenue. i'll be there starting at 7:30, and hopefully other's will come join me. PM me if you need more info. hope to see you there! " i've put the even time as 7:30-10, as i'm not sure about eveyone's schedules. let me know if anything needs to be tweaked. i'll call Lanesplitters next week. if anyone who is interested in going can respond here or PM me (whatever you prefer), that way i can give them some sort of heads up in case we have a party larger than 5 or 6 people.
  6. LTJ would've been on my 13 year old tattoo list too. i still have my losing streak signed poster up in my room at my mom's house (and saw them twice last month at riot fest since i could with my 5 day pass).
  7. your shop turned out so good! and that tattoo is great! it sounds like this is a very exciting time, overall, in your life.
  8. it sure was! just google him and you'll find the wikipedia article.
  9. Dean, would you consider sharing some of your writing?
  10. he wrote The Road too didn't he? i really want to read that. i've heard great things about All the Pretty Horses and Blood Meridian.
  11. It's Always Sunny and Arrested Development are awesome, but i don't have the time to watch either these days (and yes, Arrested Development is on NF Instant so it's easier to watch, but still haven't quite gotten hooked on it.) i'll watch pretty much anything David Cross is involved in. oh Staebler, don't even get me started D. only TV/Hollywood crush i've ever had. Christopher Meloni (the actor who plays him) also plays some other funny and interesting characters including Freakshow and Grand Wizard in Harold and Kumar, and the voice of Spike from the TV show Dinosaurs ("Not the Mama!").
  12. this is a great list! i've been wanting to read Cormack McCarthy's work for a few years now, but haven't had the chance. now you're inspiring me to do so once winter break hits. there's a few literary quotes that i've wanted for a while as tattoos, but haven't been able to tack down exactly how they should be: the first is "timshel" (or thou mayest) from Steibeck's East of Eden. that book changed me in so many ways. i'd totally get "so it goes" from Vonnegut and i'd love to get something from the Willow Tree by Hubert Selby Jr., however i haven't been able to pin down what yet (and it's been a while since i've read it). i also want the line "it's always necessary." from Jonathan Safran Foer's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, specifically a passage where the main character's grandmother describes losing her sister during the bombing of Dresden, and never getting the chance to tell her how she felt. i believe just as Oskar's Grandmother does, that it is always necessary to say how you feel to the ones you care about. your time is short. you may miss your last chance. i also want two tattoo's for books from my childhood (not picture books either): one for the Wizard of Oz and the other for Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.
  13. correct me if i'm wrong (as i haven't seen all of season 1) but didn't Jax grow up in California? i always hear his accent come through and i think it's hilarious. if you want to see him play a rebellious hippie, watch Children of Men (one of my favorite movies). he's pretty ridiculous in it.
