WTF...over...

WTF? Now I know everything...Right?
The following rating system will help you become familiar with common art terms as they relate to tattoos and hopefully better communicate your ideas...The Tattoo Rating System:
This Tattoo rating system, rates the common elements, which are present in both color or black and white tattoo designs, regardless of style. The design elements principles, we are examining, describe fundamental ideas and aspects about the practice of good visual design. The Principles of design can be thought of as what artists do to the elements of design. How an Artist applies the Principles of design determines how successful they are in creating a work of art.
Rating Scale:
To provide your rating, one is to provide a numerical rating of each Tattoo Design Element, on a given a scale from zero to ten, where 10 is best or perfect, for extremely rare cases, a higher rank can be denoted such as eleven, while an extreme bottom score would be "zero" 0. Also one can provide comments about each rating area, if there is something that deserves further feedback.
The Design Elements which will be reviewed are:
• Tattoo Design Element (1): Over all first impressions – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Design Element (2): Line work, clean breaks and edges – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Design Element (3): Gradients – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Design Element (4): Saturation – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Design Element (5): Fit to Form – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Artistic Design Element (6): Over all Artistic Composition – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Artistic Design Element (7): Harmony, Unity and Dominance – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Artistic Design Element (8 ): Contrast – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Artistic Design Element (9): Texture – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.
• Tattoo Artistic Design Element (10): Design Balance – (Rating from 0 -10) and or Notes.

flash is to tattooing as standards are to music, shapes and formulas, composition to leap from. Plagarism will always exist. Its part of cultural growth.

years ago I had tattooed a few different developmentally challenged people, and at first its a little different and odd,but after your done they always seemed more happy and satisfied than your usual customer. Tattoo's can and do bond us together in many different ways. these "special needs" people need to feel special and ok , just like everyone. I have also tattooed a few physically challenged people ,who have passed a long time ago , they to deserved that same respect, to feel special and ok.

wow that's quite a question.....perseverence from an early age.....tattooing is not a reason to start drawing in my opinion, drawing for the sake of drawing ,awesome....but I should hope that's not youre angle.

David, What a great number of questions! It seems there are many variables involved. Professional respect, ethics, as well as a keen business sense and the lack of' can all be taken into account. I once visited a friend and older tattooer in the Modesto Ca. area, He has been there for years, and I mean years. As we were walking to get some dinner up the street I noticed another shop just across the way. they had just opened a few months prior to my visit. My friend had said to me, 'They never even came by to say hello'. we quickly dropped the subject and continued on our way.
First come' first served', on a location is my opinion. If one is looking to relocate or open a shop One should investigate who else is in a close proximity, take in account a respect for that persons shop and that they were there before them. If it were me, I would honor my decision on my current location, hold on to it, and renegotiate the lease, with the help of a good lawyer. Through this, continue to investigate alternatives without making any rash decisions. You seem like you have everything under control, great Questions!! cant wait to hear from others about this.
I'll assume you're referring to GTC....When I started with him in 89 he was thee only game in town .....now its saturated...so F#ckin sad.
