  1. I enjoyed your answer Kev. I have kinda decided to divide my body in sections as well...left side and back japanese, legs spiritual, and my right side most likely to be used for a collection of smaller more traditional works done by artists I need to travel to.
  2. My old way of thinking was purely based on the images I wanted without real understanding of quality work and the abilities and different styles of particular artists...but after spending a lot of time here, studying the art, visiting shops, talking to artists and collectors my whole paradigm has radically changed. Now I think much more in terms of WHO I want doing WHAT, instead of just, "I want a dragon on my back", or whatever.
  3. I have trouble making decisions. I am slowly being tattooed...I have a good idea what i want to do with my left arm, my chest/stomach, my back and even my legs...but I am completely at a loss at what to do with my right arm (except what I NORMALLY do with it, *blush*). My question isn't "what should I do with my right arm", my question is how did YOU decide to cover yourself? Are all your pieces done on a whim? Did you meticulously plan out each body part? Just curious...
  4. I wouldn't consider myself religious either...but I must have a Rock of Ages as well. I love the design.
  5. I know this was titled "before and after" but here is more "during". ;)...3rd appt...one more to go. Well...at least one more...I'm getting the urge to finish the arm with demons on my lower arm...
  6. Holy crap Ursula...that is fucking badass.
  7. I was just thinking the same about my scrambled eggs and toast...
  8. Well...I went 6 hours. It wasn't too bad...the "half sleeve" now extends onto my chest...go big, amirite? ;) Still have one more session.

I agree. I have enjoyed the Russian novels I have read very much and War and Peace might be my favorite book ever. I like some graphic novels...I read The Alcoholic last year, its pretty amazing... Gaiman and Pratchett's "Good Omens" is funny as hell and i think most people here would enjoy it.

Its very interesting, almost completely character driven...I had to take a break because it kinda tired me out. I would like a better translation, but overall all the Russian stuff I have read is interesting to me from that period (late 1800s), where Russia is evolving religiously and politically.

    Book thread

I read some Russian "classics" earlier this year, Tolstoy's War and Peace and The Death of Ivan Ilyich. And I also read about the first quarter of The Brothers Karamazov before I had to take a break. I have been reading some Neil Gaimon (American Gods) and Terry Pratchett (Disc World books) too. I'm kinda book snobby. I did get one of those e-reader things...pretty convinient. I still prefer reading an actual book though.
  13. My longest is 3 1/2 hours. It wasnt too bad, I was prepared with some advil and good food and I was well hydrated. I have an appointment Friday...early, at 11 am. If he doesnt have anything in the afternoon I am going to see if he can finish my tattoo in an extended session...I think it will take 7 or 8 hours. I would rather just get it done at this point! I think I can go that long with a lunch break and advil.
  14. Exactly. My only regret is losing the EPL. I guess I will have to follow the Magpies on the internet (they never get on TV anyway, fucking Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool get all the coverage over here anyway...)
  15. I couldnt justify it. I literally could not remember the last thing I watched on TV. The tattoo/guitar fund grows again...
  16. Hmmm...being a Google product I wonder if there will be an iPhone app...don't Google and Apple compete in the phone market?
  17. Thank you! There is an Android app already. I'm using it now.
  18. I'd check it out. could I get an invite? [email protected]. Thanks in advance.
  19. Well, its kinda funny you mention that, my Dad is going to go in with me to get a new tattoo (first since 1957) pretty soon and he is 74...so maybe I will end up with at least hands...I could get knuckles that said AARP LIFE or something...
  20. This. I dont have a problem with anyone else doing it, but I'm starting later in life and I cant imagine I even have time to finish arms/legs/back and chest...
  21. UGH!!! I WORK for one on the companies listed. Fuck. I'm writing them first. How embarrassing.
  22. The only thing I do that is probably considered artistic is tying my own flies for fishing. I have a couple of killer flies. I wouldn't tell anyone how I tie them. I put long hours in learning techniques...spent weeks and months finding the right materials...I did it on my own. I'm not sharing. If I was Ursula I wouldn't tell anybody shit.
  23. Your interests made me laugh and get scared all at once.
