Travels with Charley is one of my favorite books of all time. I fucking LOVE that book. I picked up and started Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon. it is hilarious.

Oh really! Nice! Ribs are a party. Spencer is a cool guy, looking forward to having him do some more stuff for me. I enjoyed talking to him about the shop and the flash and tattooing in general.

I havent been to a shop and picked out a piece of flash in 26 years. it was incredibly fun...cant wait to do it again SOON. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I like that picture...you are both laughing. It looks like a fun time. Its one of my favorite things about getting tattooed...that really unhibited feeling at the shop, off color jokes, pretty much nothings off limits to laugh and joke about...everyone's pretty equal with their ass hanging out getting tattooed at the shop.

Yeah @Johnny...I would generally prefer to NOT be carrying $500 or more around in cash (debit card is more convinient). The only time I ever do that anymore is when I get tattooed. Now that I understand the economics of the credit card machine, it certainly makes sense why shops dont always take a card.

I forgot my kid has her softball banquet tonight...I cannot imagine how awful I would have felt if I missed it and got tattooed instead. DOH! Hmmm...tomorrow is looking pretty good...

Like I stated, I have always paid cash...I guess I said credit card when i really meant debit card (I'm not financing a tattoo on credit). I appreciate all the answers, it totally makes sense to me why shops wouldn't want the added expense and hassle.

I'm having a great deal of difficulty resisting going to a shop today, picking a piece of flash off the wall and having it done. Hmmm.

Maybe I am missing something obvious (I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box) but I notice in Denver no shops take credit cards. This doesnt really effect me as I have always paid cash...but I just wondered if there was a reason...

Yeah Rory, your comments are interesting too. It didnt hurt me to bad on the fatty parts near my waist...easiest area of the day. The funny thing for me was, it hurt like hell when I was on my back...but wasn't too bad when I was on my side or my stomach... the pain associated with being tattooed is weird.

I've been on a major Black Keys kick...but while I was getting tattooed yesterday we listened to Thin Lizzy and a bunch of Motown/Stax stuff. I really enjoyed that.

I had my side line work done yesterday...so I experienced all kinds of new pain...ribs are really painful. Pelvic bone...PAINFUL. What was done on my butt hurt, not too bad though. Upper ribs under my arm was brutal. What was done on my stomach was crazy too...the whole thing hurt basically except the fat around my waist (first time ever I am glad I cant seem to lose the "love handles"). But the area by my nipple...excruciating. I seriously thought I might start crying. Cant wait to go back to have it colored. :D

I have this nasty one (literally minutes after I was done for the day...picture looks like shit...not doing the tattoo or tatooer any justice...but I'm buzzed on some arogant bastard ale so I'll post it):

4 hours today on my "battle royale" tiger v snake...it hurted. Ribs/hip/some stomach... Not looking forward to shading/color.
