I know what you mean, had you know you would have gotten something in his style. I just hate that flash has become a four letter word.

I have never seen calligraphy on anyone's flash sheet? I agree though I will save geometric designs for math class.

Funny I have a monkey in a crown with a cigarette(Rollo Design) done by Lana Gooding who was working at Taylor Street at the time.

I have a friend from the states who has been tattooing in Auckland for about 18 months while his wife goes to school. He says he has done some many Maori tattoos(with a machine) on rich kid backpackers that he is actually starting to get good at those things and I'm sure he was doing most of them listening to Motorhead or maybe The Sword. I can only imagine who they tell their friends they got their authentic Maori design from. But He is a pretty versatile tattooer so they probably lucked out regardless.

Would love to see those Sharks, Scott. Or at least what is left of them. Found this photo it's a three in one. The top shark is done by Doug Hardy, bottom one by Pinky Yun and the little fish at the bottom is done my Mike Malone.

I can't attest to a person's right or personally ability or even background in this art, but I will say that talking to a great deal of people about tattoo ideas many people have aspirations of getting some sort of hand poked tattoo whether it be from Japan, Hawaii or some other tribal civilization. However I would suspect that many of them wouldn't know how to pick a talented artist in this field and/ or won't have the chance to travel to these countries so having someone doing it locally is something they would jump on. But ultimately everyone gets the tattoo they deserve.

I have tentative plans to go to State of Grace this year, but just have to make sure not to be broke after going to Chicago at end of Sept.

Teaching your kids to be open minded and to make carefully considered decisions is a trait that everyone should be taught. If a tattoo helps deliver this message then why not.

Age Your Own Doesn't really say what kind of barrel it is, just that it's an aging barrel. I should probably just do it and see what happens but part of me just wants to return it to Costco and buy a $100 worth of good whiskey.

Tattoos, No Tattoos what is the difference. Luckily most other parents I come into contact with don't seem to care up to this point. Who know what they say about me behind my back, but then again they don't know what I say about them. I think exposing your kids to different cultures, music, cuisine, art is important, although I don't think the eagle on my leg or my shark smoking a cigarette is going to mold my child into a better person. There are some close minded people with tattoos, and people with not a tattoo on their body with a way more well rounded view of life than me, but at least my kids might think I am cool one day.... .or not.

For awhile i decided all the animals on one arm had to be smoking a cigarette, eventually I ran out of space on that arm but not before I tattooed an ashtray on my wrist for all of them.

I found these fascinating last night after a few beers. Wonder if they are as interesting this morning.

I came to this forum to find other people into getting tattooed with knowledge to share. I found that and as a bonus some of the top tattooers in the world speaking freely about tattoos and other various topics. Before my son was born I spent six days in the week behind the counter of the shop and the other day getting tattooed at another shop in town, now i work only Friday and Saturday. So the rest of the week I interact with soccer moms at Target and the park. It's nice to have a place to come and chat during my downtime and getting a perspective outside the shop you have grown comfortable in. I would hate for it all to go away.
