  1. Their are a half dozen people on facebook each week trying to get through the schools you listed willing to give away any of those services and not even finding people willing to do that, so the idea that her "services" would be worth anything is kind of laughable.

  3. That is a cool mother fucker!!!!! In no way am anywhere near as cool as Freddy, but I can relate to a lot of things he says and having a little version of yourself following you around all day. On a side note probably the only little kid with cooler clothes than mine. I need to find out where he gets those tiny Fred Perry Polos.
  4. Update, Justin Lee is back tattooing in town splitting his time between Adorn and Mr Tattoo. Not that urgent of a matter, but always like to make sure I give accurate info. Also Justin Dion has changed shops but still in the area and has a website bearing his name to contact him through. Now back to your regularly scheduled forum already in progress.
  5. Obviously a talented guy, I'd buy a painting from that guy, but wouldn't get tattooed by him. I have rarely seen a tattoo without a bold outline that ages well, and if you are going to pull it off for me the tattoo has to be clean, this stuff is just too sloppy for my taste.
  6. Click Go advanced if you are in quick reply and then click the paper clip icon and it will allow you to upload your images off your computer and post them as thumbnails.
  7. Found this pic of my boss, you can really see the panther head done by Dan Higgs on his chest. I would say the tattoo was done in 1991-1992 and the photo was 1994, but it still looks pretty good to this day. Funny I was hoping to find a photo of his Freddy Corbin Rock of Ages on his ribs, but all you can see is a little water in this photo.
  8. Amazon.com: Classic Flash 2: In 5 Bold Colors (9780764338670): Jeromey Mcculloch: Books $33 bucks for both volumes is a steal. I use these books a lot for reference along with the Revisited: A Tribute to Flash from the Past. The Mammoth Book of Tattoos I find useful when someone mentions a name and I can't quite place their tattoos or want to show a quick representation of someone's work to a friend or client. Juxtapoz Tattoo is also a good book for this and it looks like you can order part 2 for the same low price of 19.77. Having Prime really helps too on Amazon. Amazon.com: Juxtapoz Tattoo (9781584232889): Henry Lewis, Roger Gastman: Books I really want to get the Spider Murphy Flash Book (Maybe Santa will get it for me)
  9. Yeah honestly I can deal with trashy people, but I can't believe in this day and age people choose to eat such processed crap. On the other hand maybe all the preservatives will keep people alive. I am no hippy I just tend to worry about food that doesn't expire for years in the future. I will probably keel over one day due to my bacon and craft beer intake, but at least it will be fresh bacon and good beer that kills me. Really life is too short not to eat bacon and drink good beer.
  10. I'm going to guess the lady in front of me in line at the grocery store with her tweety bird pajama pants and shearling boots, three kids in tow buying twelve 2 liters of Soda, Lucky Charms, frozen pizza, and a tray of cupcakes on food stamps while yelling at her kids to behave so she can go get some smokes at the customer service desk has something to do with it. At least she has my vote.
  11. Interesting revisit. On the original topic I couldn't agree with Mario and Julio more. In regards to red reactions, yeah a lot of people seem to have them, but there seems to be some brands of red that are more likely to cause a reaction than others. All I am saying is giving the tattooer a heads up wouldn't hurt. They might know a red that seems to work better in these situations. Of course some people reaction is stronger than others and type of pigment is irrelevant.
  12. Thanks man. Yeah he's a good kid.

  13. Got two hours done on my back on Friday, would really like to finish the rest of the black, hopefully sometime this week and start color. It's just a matter of how busy the shop is this week. I just found out Cheyenne at Atlas Tattoo is now just doing walk ins, which is making my no tattoos till I get my back finished even harder, but I am sticking to my guns so far. On an unrelated note, my boss is back into getting tattooed and looking to finish his body suit this year and he is having Cheyenne do a piece on the biggest piece of real estate he has left. I am happy for him he deserves to get a new tattoo.
  14. Lana Gooding did the Rollo monkey I use as my avatar. Really nice people, would love to make it down that way and get tattooed.
  15. It's time like those when having your ass tattooed would come in handy.
  16. I have seen a few pics of fresh tattoos that look good and I believe Dan Smith did something along these lines on LA INK recently on another tattooer visiting. I thought it looked pretty cool, but more than skeptical of how it will age, but I imagine you don't have many options if you want to get tattooed on your black out arm. I guess it's probably like Stewart said the skill level of the tattooers will play a big role in how it looks as it ages.
  17. I have an illustrated food encyclopedia that has some really great illustrations at the shop. An instructor at culinary institute wanted to get an egg bisected on his arm. He left the book said he didn't need it, but it has provided useful as he sends in a lot of his students.
  18. Audbon's stuff and books on how to draw animals. Also really like the Craphound stuff, which reminds me I need to pick up volume 8.
  19. One time I was in the grocery store in shorts and a long sleeve t shirt. At the time I had close to full sleeves a tiger snake battle on my calf, but nothing on my lower legs except for the sailor jerry Love thy neighbor. Had some old vet with a couple really cool old tattoos walk by and say that's a damn fine tattoo, it's a shame it's on the back of your leg and you don't get to see it. He elaborated a little more on it, but it was cool just having a conversation about tattoos with someone who appreciates them and not asking me how they can get hooked up with discount work.
  20. White ink turning brown? Sounds like it's her skin turning brown, unless she has some magical color changing ink.
  21. Some people want to be tattooed, but don't like tattoos. They can't all be panther, sharks, and lady heads I guess. Honestly I think it was mother's way of appeasing the daughters need for a tattoo without her really having one. She probably figures at the least she can prolong it a couple of years. Nice enough people I suppose.
  22. That sucks, Gwar was one of my first shows, RIP Flattius!
  23. I concur with the general consensus. I had a friend ask me about it, I discouraged her but she went and did it anyway. Three months later she got it redone in black. Had a lady and her daughter who insisted on white tattoos because she didn't want a tattoo to interfere with her daughters modeling career. Explained to them what to expect (not much) and they seem to be happy with it. Of course when your goal is an invisible tattoo, it's pretty easy.
  24. I think each situation dictates itself. Many decisions come down to actual people who are in charge of these smaller operations within the company rather than a broad sterotypical stance on tattoos and piercings. There are exceptions to every rule and some people who think rules are made to be broken. It's really hard to speculate if a person would be any more or less successful with or without tattoos. At some point a persons work ethic and performance should factor into the equation. As far as the general idea of the article I don't think their is any groundbreaking journalism. Yeah getting a neck or face tattoo and a bunch of piercings on your face is probably not going to provide you the easiest route in Corporate America.
