From last Saturday at Great Lakes Tattoo in Chicago Nick Colella -big-ass eagle (chest) Mario Desa - rose of no mans..tribute (ankle) Frank Willian - pocket knife filler (inner arm ditch) It was a good day.... besides getting 3 killer tattoos, I got to hang out and bullshit with Chad Koeplinger and Robert Ryan and the rest of the GLT crew plus it was Robert Ryan's "The Radiant Name" art opening downstairs. GLT is probably the nicest shop I've ever been in and everybody was super nice and fun.....

Staring kids = smile at them, maybe wave! Staring adults = men or women... blow them a kiss! Usually gets them to stop except the time this body builder type threw his ice cream cone at me.....

FINALLY! I've dreamed about the day I would have a person to share my love of spreadable nut-stuffs and octopi....... HA!

Dawn and Bill from Depot Town opened Harlequin Tattoo: Harlequin Tattoo I haven't been down there yet but they're cool people. Also to add to the Ann Arbor list is Tony Caporusso @ Lucky Monkey Tattoo down the street from Name Brand: Lucky Monkey Tattoo Ann Arbor and near by Ypsilanti have a shit ton of stuff to do, as they are both college towns (U of Michigan and Eastern Michigan)

Don't most tattoo shops have "ASSHOLE" consent waiver for entitled little shits like these to sign before getting inspirational script tattooed anywhere on their bodies....? They should! I ______________________ realize that every pop star and role model has inspirational script and/or meaningful symbols tattooed on every visible place on their body that designer clothes/jewelry will not interfere with. I also have been told by my artist that this is fad and will quickly pass like said role models career. I will not hold my artist or this shop responsible for my poor, misguided choices. I agree not to blog/tweet/facebook (insert currently used social media outlet) to slander this artist or shop for my erroneous decision and live with what I've done to myself

@polliwog do your neighbors look like meth/crack users? It's not always easy to tell, but the smell you describe sounds suspicious. If you ever see or bump into them you should ask "did you have a fire at your house...something smells burnt?" I had neighbors with a pot growing operation in their attic and I live in the same type of neighborhood as you. My kids played with their kids and a few times going over there, I could smell strong skunky/ripe/green smells coming from their house. My mail lady tipped me off and after coming home in the middle of the night a couple times, I could see bright fluorescent light coming from the seams and vents in their roof. I thought..."Pfffttt, whatever, they are really nice people". they ended moving 9 months later. Now all I smell is the coffee roasting place up the street, various neighbors using there bbq smokers and the Korean families cooking, who -no matter how many times I say "hi" and say "smells great!" won't invite me over to eat....

Agreed..... I often think "what about all these tattoos makes you think we're pals?" did the giant snarling wolf head with a dagger through it scream "let's hug?" The popularity and normalization of tattoos has really increased the general populations willingness to touch/ask/comment. Before I had any or a lot of work, I would NEVER consider walking up to a heavily tattooed stranger and start acting like an ass. Maybe that was just a general rule growing up in Detroit though....

When I was feeling extra surly (read: often) and people would comment about how I'd "obviously been in prison with all those tatts" I would tell them "Yep, beat a guy nearly to death for touching my "tatts" and making asinine judgmental comments"

From a couple weekends ago in beautiful Ashtabula Ohio- Jr Tubbs is the man! PS: arm shot was taken the day after saniderm was taken off (5 days total, no scab/peeling)

I just used this stuff again on 2 more pieces and I'm still pretty in love with it. I had my inner bicep, from elbow to arm pit done. I made sure to have the scraggly hair in/around my arm pit shaved. Placed the -derm partially into my arm pit and around the area where my upper bicep meets my arm pit. The stuff is so flexible, it didn't inhibit any movement and was super comfy. I also had the outside lower leg/ankle area done and same thing, -derm placed on my foot/ankle ditch with no problems. ...again super flexible. My method was similar to @Dan except for step 2, I used a small amount of auqaphor. The coolest thing about the -derm for me is, it greatly desenitizes the areas it covers. Instead of having that freshly injured, raw nerve feeling, it makes it feel dull and easy to deal with. I've never been able to sleep directly on a fresh tattoo for 3-4 days until I tried this stuff. The only small downside I've experienced with the -derm is taking it off. Patience is the key here and it has to be done S L O W L Y. I can't stress that enough!! If it's applied to a spot that you can't easily reach, you'll need some to help you. The 4 times I used it, it was removed to reveal an almost healed tattoo with ZERO scabs. The latest 2 (inner bicep/ ankle) didn't even peel. Most people I know who have/get tattoos are astonished how -derm healed work looks after 4-6 days...like "WOAH..you just got that?"
