Don't use a shitty TV show to gauge the best of the business. Those tattooers were picked by TV producers for their differing levels of tattooing. If you're in San Diego, go to Flying Panther. Ben Grillo spends half his time there and does some killer black and grey and has been dabbling on some sweet traditional. Dominic Vasquez pretty much does it all but I think he's best at Japanese tattoos and the owner, Rob, gets down on the traditional. No matter the style you're looking for there'll be someone there that can do it for you very well. The combined talent there shits all over the cast of Ink Masters ten fold.

isn't he just the coolest guy? Just a great experience to be tattooed by such a talented humble person. Great tattoo! :D

well rounded in regards to different styles with his own flair attached to it... The Grime.

that sucks man, no wonder so many tattooers don't like posting their work for the public to see.
-
the tattoo he got though was fucking amazing. PM is here in town and I asked to see the tattoo he got, it's spectacular and for being 100% hand poked it puts many machine tattoos I've seen to shame...

say it ain't so :(

damn, how about that back piece? Any pix of that up in here?

All that said, I think I got a good treatment. There was no blistering after the treatment, the worst thing that happened was the feeling of a slight sunburn. There is also no apparent scarring now 2 months later so all in all I'm very happy with the outcome. I'd rather pay more in the end for doing a higher number of light treatments than get a fewer amount of harsh treatments that could result in scarring. Karl, what do you think about the results of the first treatment? I'd say it did a good start of breaking down the tattoo with no negative effects but you know more about this than I do...

I"m getting treated by a dermatologist up the street from my house, the guys name is Dr Novatt but his assistant is doing the work, her name is Claire. The office is up here in Santa Barbara. They're by far the best deal I've found besides Jinxproof but they're all the way in Washington DC, and they have one of the best lasers on the market. I'm paying $600 per session to treat all the black. For one session I'm pretty happy with how much it's been broken up...

it's been 2 months now since my first treatment, I wish I took the before in the same light as the after but if you look close you can see that just the one treatment has done quite a bit to the tattoo... I'm going in on Wednesday for a second treatment and this time they'll treat the whole area instead of doing half and half. Hopefully 2 maybe 3 more treatments and I'll be done with the laser :D

Marcus Kuhn's New Project
ian replied to Avery Taylor's topic in Tattoo TV Shows, Documentaries and Media
Early next month Marcus will begin filming in San Francisco with George Campise and Jason Kundell... should be a doozy :D He's hoping to begin putting out new episodes every few months, he's got great ideas for future episodes. These 2 episodes should be the beginning of a great tattoo series!- 197 replies
