  1. Hi there! Sharing my experience on laser removal. I started the process last year on a small wrist tattoo and I've had seven treatments with a Q-switched laser. It's a crappy tattoo done by a crappy artist...live and learn. In my situation, the tattoo is barely budging. It's lighter for sure but still not light enough for a coverup. To date, I've spent $600 on removal. The tattoo was done deep with a weird black ink that's being super stubborn. In February, I have an appointment to hit it with a Pico laser. Maybe by this time next year, it will be solid for a coverup with medium to lighter colors. Just a reminder that it's going to be a journey, not a quick fix!
  2. If it feels hot, go to the doctor.
  3. A few of my friends have 'tour' tattoos of the places they've been. My one buddy has two amazing sleeves pieced together of the places he's been with the iconic city/country symbols, flags, and the like (what @scottyg said).
  4. I have a 13 day old tattoo that looks the same way even with a little lotion. :) All normal...
  5. I'd just let your artist do his thing at this point! Nice!
  6. Sounds like a great time. Do you have anything scheduled or are you just going to hang out?
  7. Looks good...who is your artist?
  8. @Hel7 Where in Europe do you live? There are so many amazing artists...
  9. I'd find an artist and talk to them about what would look best. They should be able to give you direction!

    Hi guys!

Welcome! What type of tattoos do you have? I'd love to see some of your work. Congrats on your PhD!
  11. Agreed...shading would help. @Hogrider said it great (and the others as well!).
  12. If you are willing to travel to Columbus, Ohio then I'd hit up Dino Nemec.
  13. I failed. I was either at my volunteer table or getting tattooed.
  14. Hi! Welcome to the forum. I love your city!
  15. Doctor and artist....talk to them!
  16. Congratulations, Dan! Sounds like your world fell into harmony after a lot of hard work. Kudos to you and yours.
  17. Hey @sister123, I'd encourage you to rethink your entire plan. If you don't want obvious tattoos on your hands, getting tattoos on your fingers isn't the best way to go, white ink or not. Right? Could they look like scars? Maybe. Could it look like just a bad tattoo? Maybe. Could the ink fall out and it leave you with something distinguishable on your hands? Maybe. I don't have any white ink tattoos (other than white as part of a design). I heard it's tricky...someone else can comment on that. But I say don't tattoo your fingers unless you are fully committed to having finger tattoos.

Welcome to the forum! Tell us more or better yet, show us some photos. :)
  19. @Dan Well, that's unfortunate. Crap. Do you have to have surgery? Feel better (hopefully no tattoos were damaged in the process).
  20. You are not a basket case. These are great questions and ones that SHOULD be asked/considered. You are putting something permanently on your body. Go with @SStu and @wildcat advice. I'm hard core corporate during the day and almost everything is covered (which is hard in the summer) but my tattoos on my upper back/neck peek out of my shirts. It's all good. Funny story from last week: I showed up at a customer site all buttoned up and wearing black tights in the middle of summer. I had read that this customer had a "no visible tattoos" policy for customer facing roles. About 10 minutes into my visit, the Director rolled in wearing shorts and sporting a large calf tattoo. I silently giggled to myself.
