  5. @marley mission, That really sucks bro. :( I know is hard specially with an old friend such as yours, BUT fuck it bro! Keep moving forward! This is what makes this thread unique, Sharing one life's experiences on how tattoos change "certain" aspect of your path/life as well of those around you. - - - Updated - - - ROFL!!!! HAHAHAHA worth a read for sure!
  6. Thanks for the share. This thread is more of your everyday experience. Not just a "stare". Thanks again.
  7. @AverageJer, and @Dan This is why I enjoy been at the studios/shops because you can strike conversations with other people and artists about tattoos, I dont hang around those areas (I avoid loitering) but I do go in a few min early to shoot the shit around with the guys... You are not strange I like the attention and reaction as well. This is why is funny to me :) I never once gave a bad attitude to those people asking me question and when I have it handy I pass business cards around to people who ask me about my specific work. Some like to conversate about it some just want to ask a question and keep going. I just don't like the stereotyping and shit.... But I guess it comes with been Latino...
  8. It is with me. I throw fuck bombs like baaauuutterr.. lol - - - Updated - - - @purplelace, Thanks for the heads up and info share! :)
  9. My foot getting blasted in about two weeks, I just order a roll of saniderm. I think this will be the best option for aftercare been that is on the foot. What do you think?
  10. Contaminated Tattoo Ink is Behind Mysterious Infections - 80beats : 80beats and MMS: Error Old but interesting.
  11. @purpleplace, ROFL!!!! HAHAHA. 3 pages back @rufio preatty much implied something similar. I did it because I wanted to be "almost" ready for the Alamo City Convention, And I am looking about another 6 to 8hrs at the convention and we are submitting for different categories... Right now I am about 30Hrs or so on the leg alone. I still have the foot and knee to get blasted. At any rate, It was a learning experience. I am hoping that by the 12th I am fully healed and ready for the convention.
  12. 9hrs -1 brake. I got both side calf, chin, top of ankle bone (left side) all done in one seating. (Outline, Shading, and Color), This is a sock that starting to evolve to a leg sleeve.
  13. So as of a month or so I have come to remember that kid that came here with a neck tattoo and we just burned him to ashes because of his life limiting decision. I have come to learn that while it matters what placement your tattoo is at, the reaction and stereotyping is the same. I wear tanks and shorts allot, Texas is hot as shit and so is where I am from so I wear tanks and shorts when I can. When I went to Canada I got allot of stares and questions around the office I was visiting at about my leg tattoos. Nothing uncomfortable but it was funny :) Everywhere I go I get at least one person asking me about why this and why that about tattoos. Occasionally I get the "That's fucking RAD". Lots of staring and mumbling, and when I make eye contact people get nervous and walk away... My wife and I just laugh... My wife tends to study my surroundings and enjoys telling me how people are reacting around me about my tattoo. Some people don't know I know Spanish (I look Italian so they tell me) and I can hear them talk about me... Yesterday I got called a thug because of my tattoo and that bother me and told that person a thing or two about tattoos in Spanish, They quickly got surprise and apologize and walked away. Last night again my friends dad who I was helping load 2x6 to his truck called me a thug because of my tattoos. Some people cant even hold a conversation without staring at my tattoos and I dont even have many. LOL!! To me all this is funny, Because I am learning quickly how some people are just ignorant and they can't differentiate from amazing work of art to a gang related tattoo and in the other hand I have learned that tattoos are not for people who do not like attention. Do you get to experience any of this?
  14. How was the visocaine? I used H2Ocean Soap once on my first back session. If you look at my instagram post of my first back session you can see how swollen my back was down by the armpit it was way too much to handle. So for me to go home and drive comfortably he used it and it worked for a good 10Min. Enough to go home. I never used it again and to be brutally honest I got somewhat of a wake up call at the expo that I went a few months back. He did the last planet and again a shit load of passes I ask for that soap and he reply "There is no room for that shit here". So I learned quick to channel pain and fuck the world. I walked around the convention and I was stun to see how many artists use it on very painful areas! I was at the Eternal booth and I at least saw 3 people or so asking for any numbing product... I am about 62hrs of total work... I have learned that: #1 - I have to be comfortable where ever I am sitting so I can focus out of pain. If am not comfortable I will do anything I can to be comfortable on my next session. #2 - I can talk while getting work on for the first 6hrs. Anything after that dont talk to me cause I am fighting my self. #3 - I Learn my limits. Depending of the size and type of work. This can go many ways from pain to how my body reacts and heals during the process. #4 - I enjoy silence. Too much commotion and loud music just takes me away out of my comfort zone. And many other things that people here wont care about but it definitely has been a body learning experience.
  15. Update on my last session. I am not sure if ever do a session this long again. The body part definitely takes a toll and healing is slower. Starting to itch and peal in some areas and some ares still feel some what raw and painful. Doing a semi dry heal.
  16. This can hold true specially when they are doing color passes. I have areas on my back that I lost count how many passes they did on it. Its insane and painful.
  17. Suiren, You have to keep in mind that there is certain things that ether wont look good on the skin or just cant be tattooed for many magical tattoo world reasons... But for the most part when an artist improves a piece they have their reasons... For example body flow, geometry, detail, and the list can go on, and on, and on... So you have to be open-minded and flexible when you walk in with your own drawings. My 2 centavos. @Isotope, Good luck, Have fun, and keep us posted if you get this!!! :)
  18. @rufio, Thanks. This is something I had budget it so its not affecting me. The damage to the house was bad but mostly covered by insurance. Roof work starts in about 3 weeks or so. The rest I am doing on my own like fixing the fence and front door, etc...
  19. Next appointment, June 12th at the Alamao City Tattoo Convention with Jon West. Getting my foot blasted and possibly knee.
  20. Agreed, We are turning it in to a mini vacation! :D
  21. A debit card is just the same as your hard earned cash. Paying with plastic does not mean you are using a cc. But I do agree as far as CC.
  22. Its a bad idea to walk around with cash around Houston or surrounding areas... Thugz around here know that people that are in and out of shops/studios are carrying cash and the troubles starts... when I have the option I pay with plastic.
