That's the thing. I like styles as basic as Mark Cross and Krooked Ken but I want this tattoo to be a little more realistic while still having the lasting qualities of traditional. I don't think fine lines last as well.
I'm going to give a picture of my first buck for reference but don't want a portrait. I want bold lines and color but kind of realistic, if that makes sense.
I am wanting to get a White tail deer tattoo and like this guys style. What do you think of him and is his stlye considered neo traditional?

When me and the wife get to Europe I will try to do that. It's monetarily impractical for me to get a flight from the USA just for the reason of getting a tattoo

I'm not into the devil stuff but am getting a Reaper when I'm done my chemo treatments. Was thinking about one earlier but got my Panther Rose morph and love it. I really think black looks good with muted reds.

What is his style considered? Traditional American with a dark twist? What other artists have a similar style that are in the USA? Thanks

That's a shame you are never completely happy. I am thrilled by the work I have but I try to seek out excellent artists. I would rather have none than crappy tattoos but that is just my opinion.
