  1. Just gone 6am here, managed few hours broken sleep. Getting tattooed today!! Angel wings behind Angel Tyrael on left leg. Am sleepy, but might stay awake for this one, will see how it goes. Having a great time in Belfast so far, as usual. Today will be icing on the cake :) Reply may be in wrong thread, sorry for that. But am caffeine free at the moment.
  2. When my mum saw the ones on my feet, she freaked. I was disgusting, a disappointment to her. Her daughter defiling her body like that. She's a retired nurse, I can see her point of view but I didn't tell her about the ones that came before or since. I have photosensitivity so was always covered up before getting tattooed anyway. Nothing has changed in that respect. I did try to explain why, but nothing. When my auntie, mum's sister, saw the one on top of right foot. I explained why and she commented that was lovely to do. My mum hates them, I tried talking but got closed door on the subject. I just don't bother now, it's just easier. I live at home because of health issues and no point in making life any more difficult than it has to be.
  3. HAHA, okay grammar nazi! :p Give me a break, was on phone when wrote that and boss was lurking.
  4. About 1 - 2hours after getting tattooed I remove the cling film and micropore tape. I swear that fucking stuff is evil. Hurts when take it off skin. The tape not cling film. Anyway, I have tepid/lukewarm water in wash hand basin with some Johnsnon's baby body wash in it (the purple bottle). Ever so gently wash the tattoo with just my clean hands. Pat dry ever so gently with clean towel and apply Bepanthen. Apply this magic cream until healed. I wash the tattoo as above every morning. After taking initial photo after it's been unwrapped no-one sees it in the flesh until it's healed. Too many people try to touch it. Especially the ones on lower legs. Must be doing something right because get asked to see previous work by other the tattooists in the tattoo studio. And always get complimented on how well they've healed. Always go to fave pub in Belfast after for pizza and black coffee. Oh, and also take 2 paracetamol that night and following morning. It seems to help with swelling.
  5. There's a female tattoo artist in Belfast City Skinworks. But judging by other replies, you're in the states. Belfast would be out of your travel range.
  6. Haha! Part of me doesn't want to know and part of me does.
  7. Face and hand tattoos aren't going to happen for me, due to work. But I wouldn't rule out hand tattoos in the future, face I don't know.
  8. @Rawok, I think it's because I find getting tattooed relaxing, esp getting my legs done. And I'm either travelling nearly 2 hours to get tattooed or if I stay over the night before. I don't sleep well the night before, am from the countryside and find the city noisy. But I get a sleep when am there :) It's all good.
  9. We have a knitting thread so why not a sewing thread? (pun intended) I am sad that I never took photos of all my work, and some photos got lost. But here is what I have. I sew by hand, my mum taught me over 30years ago and I also taught myself counted cross-stitch. Cloth Napkin. Hand-sewn cloth napkin. Material is printed flannel. Jewellery Pendant Roll A roll I made to hold pendants for my chain. The pockets for the pendants are made from scrap fabric. Held in place with safety pins to give it a different look. The ribbon is scrap ribbon. The material for the roll itself is flannel. Cutlery Roll for that work thing, to match my napkin. Material is printed flannel and ribbon is scrap ribbon. I make my own bread and had nothing to store it in. So I took an old tea towel and I sewed by hand to make a bread bag. Altered fingerless gloves (comission piece) Hand-sewn Sith Stalker costume for my build a bear lion. Sith Stalker is from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game. It's not a game I've played, but a friend mentioned it and said it would be cool to make a costume of this. The boots came from a charity store, the combats came from build a bear. The lightsabers I made from fimo (oven based clay), the belt is a small brown leather dog collar. The rat's tail, was made from hair extensions that were sewn into the back of the helmet. Everything else was sewn and "blood" added. I'm really pleased with the end result, considering this was my first full costume make. Some detail was done in crochet.
  10. Ah okay, was just curious. Will echo sorry to hear that your experience was bad. Hopefully your next one will set you on your path of your tattoo journey :)
  11. Hi and welcome. I'm curious why the female preference?
  12. Tell them it's part of your spiritual journey. Some non-tattooed other halves buy that crap. Hell, I've had probs with exes in regards to amount I'm tattooed. Despite them all being tattooed themselves, which is why they are now exes.

  15. Photos of other items that I've knitted. Bare in mind I work without a pattern, I just knit as I go along. Pencil roll 1. I knitted this with ribbon, sewed the ribbon closure and ribbon along the bottom edge. And then sewed scrap ribbon on the inside of the roll. Pencil roll 2. Knitted with yarn. A case I knitted for a bradbury bamboo graphic tablet (commission piece) Netbook case 1. Knitted with yarn, buttons hand made with fimo (oven baked clay) Netbook case 2. Knitted with material (commission piece), buttons handmade with fimo (oven baked clay). They wanted a "rag rug" look. These bags were knitted before the charge for plastic bags. Knitted bag 1. Knitted from plastic carrier bags and this bag is knitted from roughly 300 plastic carrier bags. Knitted shopper bag. Knitted from plastic carrier bags and string. Roughly 200 plastic carrier bags were used for this one. Will have to do the rest in another post.
  16. Hi and welcome :) Good luck on your search for inspiration
  17. I agree, talk it over with your tattooist about a full back piece, they'll be able to sort it out. Work in the tree and the angel, with existing one. I agree that the back is made for one piece, but have seen exciting pieces merged into one back piece which does look well. Depends on what you want and what your tattooist can visualise. (Just my 2d's worth)
  18. No, cork is in the South of Ireland, past Dublin. I'm in Northern Ireland. It's miles and miles away from me.
  19. @Rawok thanks and of course I will post pics when I've finished the project and thanks :) No idea where the hat is now though, but doesn't matter as wrong time of year to wear it. Edit: Found the external hard drive that had the other pics on, will share pics of my other knitted items soon.
  20. Fair enough and yes my ex told me, he didn't want me to get tattoos on knees/below the knee or any more work done. I don't think he appreciated the laughing and he was told where to go and shown the door. Him being tattooed himself, thought that was hypocritical of him, but never mind. Am better off without him. Started getting tattooed again this year (pics in my intro thread if you're curious) and am happy :)
