  1. Read a great article related to this topic today in UK newspaper The Guardian. But then I read the comments section and felt very sad.
  2. I was lucky enough to score a last minute cancellation with Valerie Vargas at Frith Street Tattoo on Monday. The design is a 1920s flapper girl that Valerie drew up on the spot for me. Valerie is a genius! I am so unbelievably thrilled with how it came out. Looking a bit gross at the moment, will post another pic once healed.

    New Zealand?

I'm from Wellington, although I've been living overseas for the past couple of years. It's a fantastic little city. What sort of things do you want to know about??
  4. Oh, and I also have a folder of reference material to hand in case of scoring one of the coveted last minute cancellations. Yes, I'm that lame.
  5. I suspect the existence of legions of fan girls will not surprise her!
  6. I am such a huge fan of Valerie Vargas' work. Her waiting list is currently closed. She does take bookings at conventions, or for last minute cancellations, which are announced on twitter. I developed a seriously geeky system in order to monitor any twitter announcements, which includes alerts set up on my desktop and work, and text alerts on my mobile, for all tweets from Valerie or Frith Street Tattoo. Ah, one day.... In the mean time I'm saving up all of my best spots. I sound like a crazy fan girl, don't I?
  7. Thanks everyone! It turns out they're very common and nothing to be concerned about at all. Really appreciate your help.
  8. I got a tattoo on my forearm 6 months ago. Just recently, I've started developing small bumps under the ink. About the size of pimples. Not painful, but a little tender to the touch. Not all over, just scattered. The tattoo was done in a reputable shop and healed without any problems. I tried to diagnose myself via Google, which is never a good idea!! Found info that suggested it could be scarring or an infection or an allergy. I'm probably freaking myself out unnecessarily (reading medical stuff on the internet will do that too you!) and hopefully it's something simple! So, a question to the amazing tattooists and collectors who frequent this site - do you know what this is? And how can I treat it? Thanks!
