Just a little reminder of why you shouldn't speed. I worked this accident the other day. Luckily both occupants were wearing their seatbelts and are alive. car2 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! car1 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! I couldn't get it to insert the images correctly.

Let's get it on as #6. That's awesome.

This has been discussed a little in some other threads, but I felt it could use one of it's own. What are some of the experiences you've had with having tattoos that are open to the world? Pros and Cons that you've had with them? I knew before I got a full sleeve done that it would draw some attention to me. I didn't expect some reactions though. Complete strangers will sneak up on me and grab my arm to take a look. Kids are the greatest with it, some just don't know how to react and others love to touch and name everything that's on it. I work full time as an EMT and get lots of reactions. Most of the time having my tattoos have helped. It's a great destraction for some people. They want to talk about their tattoos and feeling on them and for a few moments they forget that they are sick or hurt. Because most symptoms are worse when anxiety kicks in, this comes in real handy by keeping them relaxed. What's great too is that it doesn't seem to matter the age 1-100.

I'm gonna have to move to CA. They wouldn't touch a concept like that with a ten foot pole over here in SC. Hell, we just barely have tattooing legalized and it's still only about 4 counties that will allow that.

There are definately a lot of different circumstances when it comes to this. I know people that have had work started in one state and then had it finished in another because they knew that they would never be able to get back to that original artist. Most of those are military guys that thought they would be stationed somewhere longer than they actually were. I also agree that if a client is unhappy with the initial artist that they do have every right to go somewhere else. To me this is no different that doing a cover-up. Then, there are the cases that it's just jacked-up and wrong. For instance, my artist did a tattoo on a girls rib exactly the way she asked for it. The tattoo looked great. Well, she was talking to another tattoo artist friend and showing him her new piece. He said it was cool but it would look really good with some background shade work around it. So, she had him do it. He didn't actually touch the original tattoo but, he did take a picture to putin his portfolio and both him and her say that he did that tattoo. Needless to say, my artist was pissed. Not because he added some shading but that he claims it as his own.

I don't have a design on mine. We just used some windbars and cloud work just to fill it in so it wasn't just a blank spot. And in case anybody hasn't had their elbow done, it sucks. It gets really swollen and funny looking too. LOL

You're kinda right. We cover some of this kind of thing with EMT training. Basically your body is reacting as if you have an infection. White blood cells primarily try to kill infections in the lymph nodes due to the amount of proteins, antigens, and other things that come in handy. It's just like if you have a sinus infection and the glands in your throat swell. Some people it will be the lymph nodes closest to the tattooed area, other's it can be random. Most people don't have this reaction. Most bodies will just kick in with the reaction to try and blocking your pain receptors mostly by burning up your sugar supply. When this happens of course your blood sugar level goes down, and if you've been around a shop long enough or a convention, you see people pass out. Signs of your sugar being too low can include feeling shakey, sweaty, feeling hot, nausea or vomiting, "knot in your throat", dry mouth, and vision problems. I always take a big coke and a bag of candy when I get work done.

I know a guy that works for another EMS company and he has FTW in rather large font down the back of his arm. Standing around one of the local hospitals I heard a kid say "Check it out. He has for the win tattooed on his arm." I laughed for awhile on that one.

So, just so I know I'm not crazy. Does anybody else in here remember when FTW meant F*ck The World and not For The Win? I get a little chuckle when I see a lot of people saying FTW.

I do most of the workouts with the p90x system. They have some great stretcher and use a lot of common yoga poses. I don't really follow the routine as strict as they want, but I do it enough to get some benefits out of it.

Wash 2x (or more) a day with Dial (I like the liquid) Let air dry for about 15-30 min A&D ointment for about 3 days or until flaking starts Plastic wrap when sleeping depending on the size of the tattoo (only for the first 3 days while using A&D) Eucerin Orginal for the next 2 weeks after or sunscreen if I'm in the sun I also have to wrap while I'm at work sometimes due to my job. Being an EMT I get exposed to all kinds of fun little things.
