  1. Yeah dude, I’m letting it heal. But my dermatologist just got back with me this morning after we took a patch test of the site and it did in fact come back of me having an allergic reaction along with a mild surface infection. Topical steroids were given along with finishing my oral antibiotics. I know it was heavy handed, heck even the dermatologist said so, but I knew something else was wrong when it since it was super hot and had pus and was growing larger. So forgive me for not thinking it was just the end of a heavy hand and knowing it had to be something else as well. I understand your concerns of wanting to drill into me that it was strictly an artist chewing the shit out of my arm and I definitely won’t be going back there, and thanks to everyone who has responded with their input.

  2. Where are you getting this "old ink mixing with new ink" thing from? Ink put under the skin doesn't "mix." If you put white ink in the same place as you have red ink, it doesn't turn pink. That's not how tattooing works. The simple explanation is most likely the correct one. It's not likely allergies, it's not after care, it's not ink mixing, it's just a heavy hand. Allergies don't just go away. If you were really allergic to the ink, it wouldn't just heal. That's not how allergies work. I understand you're looking for answers, but you already have the answer and now there's nothing to do but wait and see how it heals.

  3. Almost certainly heavy handedness. There is nothing about that that looks like an infection. Is it hot, oozing, does it smell bad? When you hear horse hooves, don't look for zebras.

  4. cracking and hurting is going to be part of the healing process on a wound this deep. I wouldn't put any cream on it either.
