  1. Saw this design years ago, and it was a must have at first sight. The problem was that the artist is about 8000 miles from where I’m at. I’ve traveled for tattoos, but not that far! I caught a break though, as the artist was guesting in the USA, and I was fortunate to get a spot. The tattoo came to me. I didn’t even get on a plane. How lucky is that? I’ve been saving this forearm panel for years for this piece, without even knowing how I was going to end up getting it ever. But it worked out in the end. (The link below the photo is a video. The tattoo is a really wide design, so it wraps in my desired body placement and the video shows the wrapped sections) Artist is: Manh Huynh from Vietnam. Video link:

    Next tattoo

I just recently (5 days ago) got my second tattoo, a band around my calf. When it was being colored in, the artist started on the back of my leg. Immediately it hurt, but I knew there was no turning back. When he was finished I walked out of there with my leg sore and blood oozing under the tape. And I thought, "dang, can't wait to do that again" I'm already planning my next tattoo.

  3. The cross on the sword was one of the first things that I noticed. Good stuff.

New to the forum, latest ink

Thanks @Blue Tattoo i just sent a couple pics to the artist and wants me to return next week and make another appointment. He wants to push more white into a few areas like the cross on the sword and a few other points to make things pop. He is a great guy been tattooing with an accredited shop for over 20 years. im going to add more script down my wrist and a cross up top between the wings with some rays of light coming through. im excited about the journey of adding to it a piece at a time. 5. Yes. Because you look at the stencil, and you approved it. Frankly, nothing you are saying makes sense. If you can't tell that he is about to tattoo an entirely different character from LOTR on you from the stencil, then no one here can help you. Moving you to my ignore list. Bye now. 🤣

  7. Update; It’s 4 weeks in and it’s looking great. The healing process was fantastic. Barely any scabbing to speak of and a nice smooth peel 😉 Thanks again for this forum. It’s great to look around and learn.

    Need Advice

Thanks. After living with it for a few weeks those areas don't bother me anymore. The advice I received here and looking at loads of tattoos helped.

  9. Did you not look at the stencil? If you didn't, that is on you. If you did and said OK, that's also on you. You cannot start new threads anywhere but Initiation until you have posted at least ten times on other threads.

  10. I think the font looks unisex to me. I don’t really think there is a feminine style. As said before make sure to pick a good artist as it’s on your hands and will be highly visible. The simple looking tattoos are actually very difficult as all the imperfections are visible. Good luck!

    Idea. Any drawers?

As often happens on the internet, you got advice you don’t like. Some of the people giving that advice have several hundred hours experience getting tattooed. I re-read your post. You’re right about so many items being a back piece. Depending on how detailed it is, this would probably run 35+ hours. A good artist is going to be $100 or more an hour. depending on how well you sit it could run 8 or more sessions. Most people find the back painful. It’s hard to care for just because it’s hard to reach some spots. That’s a huge commitment for a first tattoo. Here’s some more advice you won’t like. Get a smaller tattoo on an easy place like your bicep first so you have some idea what you are getting in to.

  12. I think it’s natural that you feel like that but it sounds like you are looking for perfection. You would have to tell the artist down to the very detail everything has to be exactly the same as it is on your image. A lot of artists probably wouldn’t want that kind of hassle. For what it’s worth the eyes look fine, but I know it’s not how you wanted them. Maybe the artist thought it would look better with the black outline. If you were very concerned with it you would have to specify it to him before. I don’t think telling him he made a mistake will get you very far, he probably doesn’t even realise what you wanted. I think the artist generally knows what’s best as far as what will work, that’s their job after all. I think it’s in all of us to look for perfection and second guessing things. I’ve just had a tattoo and have been questioning the shade and placement. Other people don’t look at our tattoos like we do, I can guarantee you next to nobody would even realise the eye issue. We stare at them all the time while other people only take a quick glance.
