Hustle butter is amazing shit, I used it for the first time with the second session of my sleeve and it’s so moisturising and lasts for hours. If it’s greasy, I’d still be washing it 2-3 times a day. Shiny is normal... apply all over the tattoo (including flaking areas - totally normal). Don’t use a lot as mentioned by @oboogie that stuff, once warmed up in your hands, goes on like butter. when I used hustle butter I washed my hands thoroughly and then rubbed it in the palm of my hand and gently applied it to the tattoo. If you feel there’s excess, use a paper towel and dab it.2 points

Hi Friends! I'm new here. In November I'll be starting a full back piece. My artist is Travis Hulshizer at The Green Gazelle in Kansas City. We wrapped up my sleeve a couple years ago and finally am ready to start my next project. It'll be a full back piece centered around a turkey vulture with feminine imagery to balance it. I'm also a VERY anxious person and am already nervous about the pain. I was able to sit for 5-6 hour sessions for my sleeve but I hear the back is pretty rough. Also, for ladies, and tips on the best way to dress for comfort and easy access to my full back? Thanks!2 points -
It's too early to tell. It isn't remotely healed yet. You need to just look after it, don't over moisturize it, and keep it clean. You can always get it touched up. Is this your first tattoo?1 point

I'd just keep it clean and dry. If you want to pick one of those two, I'd use Hustle Butter but VERY sparingly. Great tattoo, by the way.1 point

Hi guys thank you for your replies. When I sent it to my artist he said it was just light scabbing that came off all at once with Dermalize and to keep moisturising rest of tattoo. This is what it looks like today 7 days old, been out of Dermalize since Sunday morning (when previous pics taken) - I currently have tattoo goo original (green tin) and Hustle Butter Deluxe which one would you be using?1 point

It takes 4- 6 weeks for a tattoo to heal. I wouldn't start to worry until then. BUT, it wouldn't hurt to send pics to the artist and ask them.1 point

Nice work. My artist used to tattoo with Travis, and I have friends who have been tattooed by him.1 point

Thanks for the love and tips everyone! I'm definitely anxious for the pain aspect but I'm sure I can do it 😳 I'll be most excited when it's finished. I'm not one who enjoys the process!1 point -

I haven’t got any back pieces done but I have my shoulder. Why not try wearing a bikini top? Then that way there’s only two strings to contend with and they can be untied when he gets to the center. Your front would still be covered (you’d be lying on your stomach most likely, or maybe sitting in a chair leaning on the back?). Your sleeve is amazing, I love it.1 point -
All parts of the back are not equal. I almost fell asleep while my artist was working on my upper back. When he hit the love handles though, that smarts!1 point
