Hey guys, I have two tattoos, one is a simple tribal design based on angel wings which is on the top of my back, just below my neck line and the other is Roman numerals on my wrist. This is the date my wife and I shared our first kiss. I got it done on our first wedding anniversary. after 15 years of marriage and two girls (5/8) I now want to get a sleeve in black/grey realism that covers my family. I've been blessed to marry my best friend and I’d like something that when my wife, kids and I look at it, every part brings back a memory. I want this quote (not the tree design) and am booked in for a consultation with bacanu bogdan but keen to get ideas on what symbols or ideas you guys would suggest. I don’t want to do this and then realise I missed something off that would have been a great representation of an event. thanks

@oboogie yeah I’m just being a 😸 currently and feeling sorry for myself lol. I’m not working atm, got laid off work because of this COVID shit so it was a good time for me to do it so I could let it heal without too much movement. I probably will get the other side done in 3-4 years, that’s usually the itch for me.

Looks good! On both of my sleeves, my arm was SO swollen. It looked insane and hurt like a fucker. But I did both arms, so obviously it didn't put me off. Hahaha.

@SStu Mike isn’t really my style. LOL but he is really good. Challenjer definitely could work with but he’s over 2 hours from me lol. Welcome! Bacanu looks quite capable from this instagram page. You should do quite good with him. Congrats! You'll find several historical threads here that discuss text as tattoos. My take on it = find an event or memory that brings you to a favorite feeling about your family. Go for the images and drop the text. Tattoos don't have to be literal for the casual stranger.

The answer could be one of several possibilities. Was your Mom's earlier work by him done in the same style, or is the tattooist trying to learn new things? Has he developed a personal "habit" that inhibits production? Any number of factors could change how any "artist" performs. I'd find someone new, myself. Where are you located?

Looks great! Big long sittings = big work. Always a fan of seeing these. Super satisfying too, those long sittings.

Three things First, it will never look like it did the day it was done. Second, tattoos take 4-6 weeks to heal. You won't know anything until it's healed. Third, I wouldn't give anyone a second chance. I never understood the mindset behind going back to the person who screwed it up to give them a second chance. That is a very delicate tattoo with lots of thin lines. You are far more likely to make it worse trying to fix it. You can't really fix a blowout. Most important though, it looks nice. Be happy. When you're pasty white like me, blowouts really stand out. Although I'm so covered now that they don't really show at all.

Recently got my first tattoo in the US. Originally from New Zealand where I have three others. Super happy with the result, two sessions 15/16 hours total. Done at stained skin in Columbus Ohio. Excuse the swelling on the inside and outside of my bicep, that shits painful LOL.

It's way too early to tell. You'll have to wait 3-4 weeks before you really know what it's going to look like. I'd be more concerned with how it already appears to be significantly lighter in just one week. That might change with healing, too. Hopefully the tattooist really got the ink down in there adequately . . .

/\ that is the biggest complaint my wife has about me getting tattooed. Dead bodies all over my tattoos? Fine. But ink/blood/plasma on those Egyptian cotton sheets? No fuckin' way pal... Doing more research currently on it... One observation though is that everyone who has used it once uses it for all future tattoos, which to me is a pretty big indicator
