    Tattoo Placement

should be facing into the center of the body, like you have it, right?

    Tattoo Placement

New here guys. I was wondering about my tattoo. I thought it was supposed to face away from me, but the artist said it made sense to have it facing this way. I figured he knew more than me since he was an artist. Now I’ve had some people say it should be facing the other way and I’m worried it could get in the way of a traditional sleeve. I don’t think it really could be covered up.

cool tattoo. no need to cover it up... it'll fit right in with a traditional sleeve no matter which way it's facing. don't overthink it! i'd say the "rules" are that tattoos should face forward if they're on the side and face inward if they're on the front or back. i did a quick search of Bert Krak's IG for some examples. The peacocks on the back of the calves both face inwards. But on the client with the eagle backpiece, you can see a skull facing in and a hannya facing out... and no one will say that one's right or wrong. it's not even consistent and it doesn't matter! 😃 Just keep getting tattooed and it'll be all good!

    Hi to all tattoo fans

Back to the main topic, I have always believed that you should always get a tattoo for you. As long as it makes sense to you, that's all that truly matters. That said, you can't really stop people from commenting or asking questions that make you wanna strangle them. Depending on my mood, the question "What is it or what does it mean" can be met with a blank stare, a wordless smile, or some inane story that I made up on the spot. Hope that helps!

    Hi to all tattoo fans

well I wouldn't worry about it then, and maybe don't use that same gel on fresh tattoos.

  8. My legs are covered in smaller tattoos. I have many different ideas and interests, so little tattoos made more sense there. I have two full sleeves, and those are mostly more thematic. I plan to get a Japanese back piece eventually. I like both looks. It's just a personal thing.

  9. IMO large tattoos, like full back or full leg or arm sleeve are a sign of the times, large tattoos are a part of the new tattoo world we live in, social media has also changed the tattoo world, when I started getting tattooed in the early 80's, it was all small pieces, back when I started you walked into a shop on a Friday night, picked a flash off the wall, and waited for your turn, I have one large tattoo, but all the rest I have are small to medium size, to each his own, but personally I like the traditional look of many small tattoos,
