This was your first tattoo? A head tat? Fn GNARLY dude go big or go home lol I wouldn't let the fact its not perfectly symmetrical bother you, still looks good. Majority of tats aren't perfect.
Hi @Hands On!
You are absolutely right, it is the fact that it is more visible to myself than the others are that is difficult. I am getting more and more used to it, though, and can almost spend time by myself again without hating absolutely everything 🙂
The castle is actually Hogwarts, so hierachies don't have that much to do with it. The tattoo just references the fact that Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life ever since I was little and shaped me a lot. No deeper meaning to it than it defining me, no big deal 😄
I really enjoy the different aspects you mentioned that could be triggering this. Do you have a psychology background?
I got my first last month. Pretty large, shoulder to elbow.....go big or go home! I smile every time I look at it. It's weird knowing it's permanent and that my arm will never look bare again, but I never liked my pale upper arms anyway. I like it so much, I'm ready to get the other arm done in something a similar size. If I didn't have to worry about work right now, I'd probably be working on a full sleeve on both arms! Not ruling that out for the future.
So no regrets, only the itch for more!
That’s cool. Reminds me of this small filler I got earlier this year. The whole arm is by Franz Stefanik, previously of The Okey Doke, in Toronto, which is where this was done, but now working out of the Baby Bird in Hamilton, ON.
Edit: image uploaded upside down, but works just as well

One of those not-quite-their-own-piece-not-quite-part-of-a-bigger-piece deals. Banged out over two days. Cobra is from a couple years back.
