  3. I think you're being a little bit neurotic. If it bothers you that much, just don't get any more tattoos from him.

  4. you're overthinking it dude. it's fine. and you got tonnes of real estate to make more tattoos around it.

  6. Most of us agree that tattoo images are mostly only what they mean to you - not what they're supposed to mean to the casual viewer. Whatever image resonates those properties/characteristics to you is all that matters.

  7. Aaron Coleman, Immaculate Tattoo, Mesa, AZ One of those not-quite-their-own-piece-not-quite-part-of-a-bigger-piece deals. Banged out over two days. Cobra is from a couple years back.

  10. Yes, it's a VERY bad thing. There is no such thing as a perfect tattoo and if you go over your tattoo with a magnifying glass you'll find all kinds of things "wrong" with it. Better to just love it from a distance.

  11. just get some more tattoos all down the arm. take your time. i think people are so fixated on having the "sleeve" look ... if you want a sleeve, you get er all designed and done at once (multiple sittings). otherwise just load that god damn arm up with a variety tattoos. whatever makes you happy and inspired and feel confident. it doesn't have to match. puzzle piece em. tile em. layer em. just get the tattoos 🙂

  12. I mean, you do you. You're right to protect yourself if you think that's what's needed. Better safe than sorry. But unless you actually think it's not as good a tattoo, and unless you've reason to question his ability, I see no reason to question the work.

  14. I wasn't blaming the artist I just meant I'm a little disappointed that when we came to the finale size nobody said hey dude this is probably going to be illegible in a few years, you should go bigger, especially since we had talked about size and blurring. Too late now! At least it'll look cool for a few years

  15. it's not necessarily the artist, it's just text that small will meld or look unreadable in a few years. it's just what tattoos do,

  16. I agree with the comments above re placement. I think if it had been too much higher it might bend and distort with flexing. try and take a break from looking at it. Wait until it is completely healed.

  17. do you want to stick with that style? Might be tough to do a cubism nature scene, but you could always add more animals.

  19. Keep in mind that the full dissolving/absorption of the ink can take up to 6 months. On the other hand, that line-work is IN THERE.

  23. Not really a new tattoo but I got a call from the shop that did my tattoos. They are having a professional photographer come in to shoot some of the artists favorite pieces and the artist who did mine choose one of mine as one of his favorites that he wanted shot. Thought that was pretty sweet. I’m guessing it’s the clipper ship but I’m not sure.

  28. And thus the photos have been posted, it has now officially happened. My butt has been tattooed. I didn't like it and I don't like the healing either. I also was super bummed that I didn't get to go to the San Francisco Asian Art Museum

  29. Ok...here’s a few crappy bathroom mirror pics. Lol The Led Zep Swan song tat was from when I was about 25. He said he can incorporate it into this current tattoo. It will be interesting to see how he does it.

Also this one. It came out too close to reference.. I love it to bits, but still it bugs me a lot that I haven't asked to change it more. It was originally designed by Elizabeth Huxley.

  36. mine is a bit different, but I got it well after she died. it's a minogame: a Japanese folk turtle with seaweed on its back, surrounded by waves and maple leaves. it represents felicity and longevity, and for me it represents my mother who liked fall and the ocean. death sucks, death sucks so much, but at least we can get nice tattoos
