yeah, that's why I'd go with huge black and grey angel and devil, one on each side. so it won't like work with the outline but instead cover over everything. but that's thousands of dollars.... so while you're limited on funds now, maybe it's a matter of saving up. isn't there a guy in the south that does cover ups on tattoos from former gang members? or am I thinking of white power shit? good luck man!2 points

To get it done well, you are going to have to pay someone good money. It won't be good done on the cheap.2 points

Much less anxious of those than their associated ditches. But ( realizing I have one elbow ditch tattooed) Knee ditch actually scares me.2 points -

Gotcha. The stuff this guy has done on my friends, while none of them were for me in my layman's eyes they were well executed. One of these people is my husband, so his work is kind of in my face on a daily basis! I'd obviously just prefer to give a friend my business. If we don't have a meeting of the minds I move on. Plus this is a two-way street, right? I know / trust the guy well enough that he's not going to want to do anything we both feel confident about either, and he'll tell me that, as I hope any professional would. And no, I wouldn't hire AC/DC to do a wedding, but I'd sure as hell go to one.1 point

I need help. Cover up.

I know. You’re right. I can figure that portion out. I’m just looking for some creative minds to maybe help me with any ideas for a coverup pattern that would work with the negative shading on this tattoo. So I have something to go in with. The artists I know locally are pretty busy. And it’s my thought that if I went in with a pattern or idea that would help get the ball rolling and get it done rather than them have to spend time trying to think of and draw something up that I would like. I do appreciate the feedback.1 point -

Josh wants to do stippling designs throughout like on the top half of my arm. Should tie it all together. It is all Buddhist/Hindu symbolism.1 point -
So, @oboogie - what your you gonna use for filler? Classic stars and dots?1 point

I’m the opposite. Both of my elbows and my boney feet were brutal.1 point

How Important is the Experience?
Boiled Dove reacted to Hands On for a topic
The tattooer's bedside manner might be something worth mentioning. Tattooing fast and clean is good for everyone. It might hurt like cuss as they're ripping through your skin, but at least it's not long and drawn out! I appreciate when the artist is sympathetic (or empathetic) towards the client and works quickly, makes you laugh or feel comfortable to ease the pain, checks in to ask how you're doing, wipes gently, etc. This is all part of the experience that can make it bearable if done right or horrible if done wrong. I had one artist who paid great attention to detail, but so much so that he wiped and checked his work after every tiny line. By the end of it, it felt like he was dry wiping with sandpaper! This also added to the duration of the pain. Even writing about it now makes me cringe.1 point -
It's been a good while since I posted on here so here are a few bits I've had over the last year or two, there are more but these are the only ones that I have pics to hand. A couple from Steve Byrne My leg as been in progress for about two years now, one session to go, by Damien Rodriguez Oliver Macintosh1 point
