  1. Yeah, that's more than I've ever paid up front - but he's obviously at a stage where he can weed out those who are truly serious and committed, too.

  2. Every time I've used it the leaking has stopped after the 1st 24 hrs. If you're still producing sludge after 3 days I'd personally be inclined to unwrap it, let it dry out and get a better visual of what's going on.

  3. I didn't have a problem with either of my legs, but being sore three days in after 7 hours on delicate skin doesn't sound like something I would worry about. This is my right leg; it was done in multiple sessions.

  4. Yep. You gotta trust he's not going to get hit by a bus or something, too.

I just gotta say you might wanna take in mind it won't look as clear in a few years time.

  7. Ya, I guess you both are right, I just feel it's madness paying 3,200€ out of a total of 6,400 up front.

In my mind and over the decades of wearing art, I prefer images to literal wording. Having said that, there is some truly awesome script/font artwork out there.

  9. You won't know what it's going to look like for 4-6 weeks. Also, thin lines on delicate skin are prone to blowout. There's no such thing as a perfect tattoo; if you look hard enough you'll find something wrong with every tattoo. Put away the magnifying glass and enjoy your tattoo.

    Blowout on leg

The ink would spread whether you see it or not. ;-)

    Blowout on leg

just leave it alone, and the ink is not a health risk.

  12. Its not that weird, if you take the slot and don't show up they are getting paid, how much they think that time is worth is up to them. Dasha might have gotten burned hard before or it might just be what he believes gets people into the chair every time.

  13. Yup, made that sure already xD Both of them do have a really considerate rescheduling policy.

  14. When Old Soul announces their event, I will loop you in! Generally, it's at the end of September. So.much.fun! @JAC1961 Robert tattooed me there last year. 🙂

  15. Well, I don't see it as disrespectful...they need to cover their costs and make sure people are committed. That being said, I hope that your artist has an accommodating reschedule policy. Booking for 6-8 appointments in <x period> of time, requires a lot of planning and life does happen.

  16. Toledo, OH. That wouldn't be too bad, Google says about 4 hours. Thanks for the info!

  17. @JAC1961 WHere are you from again? Robert has been coming to Old Soul Weekend in Canonsburg, PA for the past couple of years. Is that close to you?

  18. Yikes, that is a lot. I know with one artist that I worked with he required almost an entire day in a deposit.

  19. I'd go with @SStu advice. Unwrap it and go from there. Have you been walking a lot? Sounds like you are still swollen...your body is telling to rest and elevate. I have been a little sore for about 4-5 days on a few lower extremity tattoos but not to the degree that you are experiencing. Have you been taking some Advil or Arnica for swelling?

Yeah. Most tattooists will just go around them. They usually blend in unless you're looking for them.

You do realize that script is really hard to do correctly, right? There is zero margin for error. I hope you did your homework and found a great SCRIPT tattoo artist, not just a great tattoo artist. Also, thin script on thin skin is a recipe for a blow out. Not to say it always happens, but it certainly increases the chances.

That is actually a great idea using symbol imagery instead of words. The sky is the limit going that route.

  30. It looks fine. Leave it alone. There's no such thing as a perfect tattoo. You're the only one who will notice these minute imperfections.
