I just reported the troll. Brand new and you start attacking people who are simply asking questions? Nope.

  2. I slap it when it itches. I don't use lotion to speak of while it is healing. Too many people use too much. I dry heal all the time, and my tattoos all turned out really well.

If you are his artist you need to grow a set and not be a puss-wad troll. If you're not, he came here and ask for people's opinions and they gave them, not really your concern. At this point I'd say you two need to resolve this person to person and not make it an internet pissing contest. Just my 2 cents.

You'd tell any potential artist what you're original vision was, bring references of other similar art that you love and ask for their honest opinion of a possible outcome.

Hello all, I am new here, but I've been to this forum via Google when questions have come up. Glad to finally join the convo!

  6. can't tell if the scar on your head has the same type of healing pattern as your arm. Definitely something to bring up during any consult you end up with - but with a geometric pattern like you're interested in - in the worst case the scar could be worked into/around the design.

  7. I'm not familiar much with Welsh artists, but would be happy to vet some if you want to send links. Hell, London is only 3 hours away, right? You've got dozens of good options at your disposal . . .

  10. From South Wales. It’s just the unknown of how it’s going to look because scar tissue I think is unpredictable and not seen anything online where someone has had it done which is making me more doubtful about it. Just don’t want to end up worse than am now. Thanks for reply.

  11. I use light applications of lotion - my skin is super dry. That being said, you are gonna need to let everything heal for a good four to six weeks.

  12. Over lotioning is harmful, but light usage helps some people deal with the healing. I'm about 70% covered, have never used any and all my collection has healed perfectly.

The reaper side is less readable, and it's darker so will be tougher to re-work. Price will depend on several factors that will vary/artist. I'd be prepared for a $2-3000 estimate, and that's not including travel costs. Send us links to potential candidates and we can assist with the search if you like.

  15. I don’t see anything to worry about there. I recently got the beginning line work for a sleeve and we started on the forearm. Man, was it red and irritated. Took about a week but it subsided. Just keep it hydrated and you should see improvement in a day or so.

You literally just posted this. People have lives and work. You'll get an answer. Anyway, we can't tell a lot from that photo. What do you want us to say? Are you wanting an opinion on the work?

Absolutely!! This is the one that wowed me. More because of what’s going on in the background.

  19. My second tattoo, my artist charged $150/h. I gave a $100 deposit. Day of the tattoo he tattooed me for about an hour and a half (from the min he started to the end time), and charged me for 2 hours. I paid the two hours and added a 20% tip. I didn't mind paying for the extra 20 or 30 minutes because I realized that he took time to draw, to make two or three stencils until he got the right size for the area. He was also very meticulous about making sure it was on the right spot (time being spent). The second tattoo he did for me, he tattooed me for just under three hours ($450). He only charged me $200. I tipped him 30% that time. We have since become friends. We have hung out while he's drawing tattoos for the next day. He can spend several hours drawing and making different options, for which he doesn't get paid. So now even more, I never haggle an artist. I am amazed at how many people don't tip their artist. If you take care of them, they will take care of you.

  20. so interesting to hear the stories. for mine, it was like, "here's my hourly rate." "here are some ideas; I think this one" deposit. show up. let the journey begin.....

  21. Most of mine the artist told me what the cost would be at the consultation and stuck to that price. My half sleeve was hourly, but the artist definitely gave me the benefit of the doubt. I didn't watch the clock and track every minute, but he discounted me about 2 hours time. I take it that you think you were over charged? To me tattooing isn't like other professions or businesses. They don't have mission statements or business plans, they're artists and run things a little looser. You're not buying a burger getting an oil change. If you really think that you've been overcharged, but all means talk to your artist. I'd just let it go... it'll average out in the end.
