  2. Over lotioning is harmful, but light usage helps some people deal with the healing. I'm about 70% covered, have never used any and all my collection has healed perfectly.

  3. You won’t know anything about blowout until it heals. The day after my last session the line work was 3x wider than when it was done. After it scabbed and came off it was normal. Give it more time. I typically clean the tattoo twice a day with antibacterial soap and use a thin layer of aquaphor afterwards. Just make sure you aren’t drowning it with moisturizer.

If it were mine, I'd have someone with more artistic talent re-work it - but I'm fussy about my art. There's probably 10,000 tattooists in the US. There's probably only 1,000 that I would consider "good artists". Time in tattooing does not = good artist.

Find someone really good at coverups. Not that you want to cover this up, but someone experienced at coverups is probably your best bet for getting this as good as it can possibly be. They won't be cheap.

Just because he's been doing it for it for a long time doesn't mean he's good at it. I'm with Dan here. I don't think I'd go back, but that's up to you.

The reaper side is less readable, and it's darker so will be tougher to re-work. Price will depend on several factors that will vary/artist. I'd be prepared for a $2-3000 estimate, and that's not including travel costs. Send us links to potential candidates and we can assist with the search if you like.

  9. Just keep it clean. Don't but lotion on it.

  10. I guess another reason I was asking about blowout was because the lines on the other side look a little cleaner, or maybe it’s just my imagination. Could be placement or positioning or whatever, too. Admittedly, I had just got done peeling from a sunburn on the side of my arm in the first pictures. I mean, it had been 2-3 weeks since I was burned, and it was very lightly, with minimal peeling, so I doubt that affected it too much but I guess there is always a chance. This pic is the other side of the tattoo.

  11. Cool. Yeah, I use very little Lubriderm. Just enough to loosen it up a little and hydrate my arm. It’s unscented as well, so I don’t have to worry about irritation. Appreciate you, bud! Thanks again for the info.

  12. I don’t see anything to worry about there. I recently got the beginning line work for a sleeve and we started on the forearm. Man, was it red and irritated. Took about a week but it subsided. Just keep it hydrated and you should see improvement in a day or so.

  16. What are you going to research? Either you want to pay the money or you don't. Better to pay more than you want than less than you should. It sounds like you want to use this artist, you just need to talk yourself into it. Go for it; I've never gone first class and wished I hadn't, but every single time I cheap out I'm sorry. One thing I won't cheap out on is my tattoos. I learned that from other people's mistakes.
