    Marathon Tattoos

I'm doing a Japanese backpiece, and generally speaking, that's a situation of slow and steady wins the race.... which I rather like. It becomes a part of the rhythm of life in a way that's gotta be different than a sprint. Getting tattooed monthly over the span of many years is the true marathon. just my 2 cents

I think it's going to be hard to get a top quality sleeve done in three days, just my opinion. Good work and careful attention to detail takes time. If you can sit for three full days, more power to you; I don't think there is a reason not to.

  3. Thanks for the reply and advice guys! I appreciate it :) I was thinking I will probably do the bicep on day one and then get the outer arm/shoulder done on day two as I always found those sessions the least painful for my left arm! I was just seeing people on other forums online sayingn it was less painful the second day and I just could not imagine how!! haha I'd imagine joining them up at the tricep on day 2 will be quite painful tho haha I'll be sure to post the work here! Going for the Chesire Cat inner arm, Harley Quinn (comic style) and Venom on the outside! Will be done this day in two weeks! Can't wait :)

Well, that was a thrilling read.

  5. We can't make your feel better about what you are going to do. You either want it or not. You may feel some remorse. But you may not. I think I'd wait if I were you. You don't seem sure enough to make this decision. If you are resorting to asking strangers, just wait a while. There's no rush.

  6. You’re getting only the neck area lasered, correct? Because the chest piece is badass...

  7. These are a couple hours after. In addition to redness and swelling I can see areas, that were filled in with the shader, that are immediately showing lightening. I figure the outline will take the longest and is the biggest gamble in how well this goes. I’ve looked at a lot of pictures online and am still trying to stay realistic about what can be achieved. I realize I made the choice to get this tattoo. I think the artist did a good enough job although I wish we would have spent more time on getting placement and the line even. I’m attempting to get it removed as I have never felt good about how it looks. When people see it, they generally act in a way that confirms my bad feelings about it. By either not saying anything or clearly avoiding any comment on how they think it looks. I realize other people’s opinions don’t matter if I like it but I don’t like it AND this nagging issue is confirmed by their response. Being an educator, I’m hoping I can again wear the top button, unbuttoned while at work. The tattoo is pretty new, got it in October of 2017, and being that it is so big and bold I think I’m right to be concerned about how this removal will turn out. Unless I end up doing a coverup (which would mean top button for 25 more years), I realize this will likely be a long, painful and expensive ordeal. Stay tuned

Definitely agree with you both! I don't know why but I just have this huge sense of urgency and want that immediate gratification from getting the full sleeve done. With all this being said, we'll see how long i'm able to last lol. Longest i've sat was 5 hours and the 5th hour was hell. Thanks for your thoughts!

  12. Please specify what "Acting Weird" means. Your back looks like it's glistening, just a guess, but I think you are using way too much moisturizer. Try letting it dry heal for a day or two and see what happens. Meantime, if you are really worried, see a doctor.

    Introduction/Anxiety

He seems to be a trad/neo-trad/oriental tattoo artist. Is that the style that you're wanting it in? Typically artists want to continue tattooing in their own style so it's most likely not going to turn out exactly how you wanted it as @oboogie stated. The first tattoo always gives the most anxiety because it's the first step into the tattoo world (imo). If you're still that unsure, you could do the ole "change your phone background into the tattoo or a picture of your body with the tattoo using an app and look at it everyday to see if you want to commit to that." jus my 2 cents

  15. Or . . . go into it knowing it's going to REALLY SUCK! That way you might be pleasantly surprised. Sorry, I haven't done 2 in a row yet. Can't help in that aspect. Mike does nice bold work, tho - I hope you come back here and post the results.

  16. Um, you keep thinking the second day hurts less! Go for the Positive Mental Attitude. Hint: it may hurt worse, it may hurt less but it will probably still hurt. I've done it and I can't say the second day hurts less. Just take super good care of yourself...prepare for battle. 🙂

  17. It Looks pretty light so there would be a possibility of having it covered with darker colours and there is a lot of space in it so there would be plenty of room to work and blend it. I would say when choosing your next tattooist the best thing would be to ask to see there before and after pictures of cover ups they have done and see if they have any aged pictures of them after healing

  18. I’m no artist but I would think that the back of your forearm and the top of you hand are absolutely fixable by a good artist. The hand is still vague enough to make something out of and the forearm has plenty of canvas left to work with too.
