    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

Picked up this dog rose from Cassandra Frances when I was in London a little over a week ago: I was nervous about what the dry air on an eight hour flight back home the next day would do to it. I originally planned to re-wrap at my artist’s recommendation, but when our first flight got cancelled and I didn’t want to struggle to A) try to wash it in an airport bathroom or B) leave it wrapped for 24 hours, I just put a little Aquaphor on it as usual and this has been one of my easiest heals so far. No stinging when I wash, swelling was gone within a day, no scabs.

  2. Day 2 down, both lower legs colored. Next trip we color the upper legs finishing up the full backpiece and then it's on to the front.

  6. my bad. the blackout suggestion was a joke in reference to another recent thread. ignore me and leave the rose alone. it looks fine.

  7. Well, hopefully the trolling doesn't continue to a "Is my blacked out penis tattoo healing ok?" thread.

  10. The way the last week or so went, MY luck would be that I'd click on a link and get owned. 🙂 @JAC1961

  13. The utilization of blood instead of ink isn't so much of a stretch for me as me not understanding the motivation behind her need to replicate and wear some ancient person's unknown markings. I can't relate, but in any case - that's her choice, so I respect that.

@Gingerninja - Yes, on and off - funds permitting. I still speak to a lot of artists I came up with and even the ones I worked with. My start was very much less than ideal - but I've worked on my art a lot while I've been out of shop work. @Hands On - I don't see it as seven years of practice that I've lost out on, I see it as more time away from an industry where (at the time) there was nothing positive keeping me there. I needed some time out, so I took it and it made me a better person and allowed me to view this all with a renewed perspective. Thanks for the replies - it means a lot 🙂

Oh, then it shouldn't be too expensive.

Here are 5 of the 7 I got last week. Unfortunately, that rose isn't gonna be that pretty once she finally heals lol. Looking rougher than hell right now. Will upload some pics of other two once I take some.

  19. This is all I can figure. I don't see a penis in there, and I work with middle schoolers who draw dicks on EVERRRRRYTHING.

  20. Yup, I've been new to lots of things. I don't keep asking the same question because I'm not getting the answer I want. If you think that tattoo is scarred, blown out, or messed up, you have NOT done your homework. ;-) Here's what you got from you're first thread - For what it is, it looks fine to me. - looks lovely; - it's looks great the way it is ! - I don't see anything wrong with that tattoo at all. - Nothing wrong with the execution of that tattoo. - It's a cute first tattoo! Despite this feedback, you then start another thread, "will this eventually heal okay?" IT'S HEALING FINE! You're getting lots of good feedback, you just aren't listening. It sounds like what you want to hear is that it's a mess and that you need to get it fixed. Have a good life, tattoos just aren't for you.

  21. I don't really get what it is, and I don't like it much. I'd cover it or just tattoo all around it.

  22. I really don't like watercolor tattoos, but that looks fine to me! I once heard Cheyenne Sawyer say that instead of getting a coverup you should get better tattoos around the tattoo in question so they could talk to each other. So, if you're into it, just get more tattoos on that arm!
