I haven't had a pair Doc Martens in like over a decade. All through high school I wanted a pair; it wasn't till grad school that I bought a pair; they died a decade ago. Yea, really. and is sensitive if pushed on That's NOT normal after a month. I don't know what a doctor will do, I'm not a doctor. If your doctor tells you not to get tattoos, you need a new doctor. Hey, YOU asked for opinions, that's MY opinion. ;-)

You can have it touched up. Just make sure that it's really settled in (like 3 months).

I can't relate to the doctor issue. My dermatologist always asks if I got any new tattoos; she has some too. Last time I went to my regular doctor we got talking about tattoos and he asked if I would be comfortable taking my shirt off so he could see my back piece. When I was at John's Hopkins in Baltimore this year, three nurses stopped me in the hall so they could look at my work. All of the medical professionals I have been too have been very non-judgmental.

Dan is a wonderful artist, in all of his themes @Gingerninja! I'll certainly be jealous if you can score one from him.

As opposed to trying to reason with you I will say this..... GO FOR IT. DO IT!!!! JUST DONT F***ing TATTOO ANYONE EXCEPT YOURSELF. If you wanna be another rat jumping on this already F***ing half sank ship, your doom is your call..... This ship never had any benefits, insurance, or savings.... No lifeboats either... There is a TRADITIONAL methodology to becoming invested into the craft, if you don't want to at least try to go that route, and you have already made your mind up as to what "you want"..... Why are you even here? At least take an online Blood Borne Pathogens Class, to keep from getting yourself, or your family sick.... And know, when the rando person at the store comes up to you and asks that question, "you do a lot of your own tattoos?", you can respond.... Yes, and know- to the rest of us, we know it's a big joke and a waste of your own good skin to try to learn on your own body.... Yes, I am a *** and a total asshole. I'm married to a big dick, also a tattooer... Good luck regardless...

My husbands looks great. And healed within a week. I didn’t pick or wear my ring for awhile. I thought about just having the Q redone in black over top of the red if that would be possible.
