I have tattoos on all my upper and lower sections of my fingers,and finger tattoos just suck ,and they ALWAYS need a touch up and maybe a second touch up, and they ALWAYS can blow out a little,small parts of the finger tattoo can fall out too,if there is any scar tissue on fingers(like i have from small cuts over the years) can cause trouble too. IMO it looks like that's what happened,similar happened to me and a touch up helped a lot. it is what it is.

Really? What is a doctor going to do? Tell me not to get tattoos is my fear 😂 I have thought about that, but it doesn’t seem infected or anything to me.

Just my 2 cents, but take a deep breath. First of all, to repeat, INK ALLERGIES ARE VERY RARE. If you don't believe me do the research - in the medical literature where cases would be documented and confirmed, not in online forums where everyone who ever had an itchy tattoo said they were allergic to the ink. Second, it sounds like ONE doctor, not doctorS, didn't know what it was. If it's a simple infection, it should be easy to clear up. Good luck.

Humm….that does look a little messed up. How does your husband's look? Did you pick at the scabs or anything? Fingers are one of the most difficult spots to tattoo. My advice: let it heal for a few months then find an artist to touch it up.

thanks ! both my lower arms are mostly from the 80's & 90's, my upper arms/shoulders are newer, my right arm is still bright,I think the lighting and mix of styles make it look different, both arms were done in the same time frames alternating back and forth.

I know I am. Maybe there is a forum out there for scratchers where you can discuss designs that look cool but don't work on skin, infections, blow-outs, scar-tissue, vomit-enducing work, and a host of other issues endemic to kitchen magicians. My advice is just don't. If you are really an engineer, you should be able to afford quality tattoos from qualified artists. That's what this forum is about, not "how to tattoo yourself with your eBay kit."

@Boiled Dove I love your new tattoo! That is a super fun one. For my shin, I was actively managing the swelling. I took it really easy, kept it elevated as much as possible for a few days. It swelled up more after I traveled home which was after the second sitting. My shin didn't swell as much as I thought it would, though. The worst swelling to date was on the back of my left knee, in the ditch. THAT was swollen!

Well I waited. My artist went to a new shop and get set up. Went is for session 2 today and we had a great afternoon laughing. Project is almost complete.

Last session 2 weeks ago. Might add something in the far future but done for now.

The best thing you can do is what I did - wait until you are old to get your tattoos and that way you'll probably be dead before they begin to fade! That's my plan and I'm sticking too it. I also don't have to wait to see what they look like when I get old. I can just look in the mirror! :)
