so we landed on Maui yesterday for 2 weeks. fun on the flight, views from our condo , and a few little green friends at the tiki lounge. Aloha !

His first spot on Saturday. I really have no idea, I told him I might pick something out of his book of designs he's bringing along or he can draw whatever we feel like doing that day. Playing it by ear. I'm just happy to get anything by him, honestly.

Hello guys it's been a while since I've been on here. Not sure If anyone still cares but I'm going in September the 1st to get the rest of my rework tattoo finished. Well I waited. My artist went to a new shop and get set up. Went is for session 2 today and we had a great afternoon laughing. Project is almost complete.

I'll be in there like house slippers! Matt Kerley around 5:30 on Friday I think, Acetates at 2:30 on Saturday, Scott Sylvia around 9:00 or so, and Tim Lehi first thing Sunday! Catch me hobbling around the convention hall hahahaha.

I'm big into music also, but unfortunately a lot of bands I like, I just don't really want their logos or album covers on me for aesthetic reasons. I have the Minor Threat black sheep logo, and some day I want to get the black cat AFI used for some merch (https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61CZ77FtGZL._SY450_.jpg). I also have a piece inspired by some album artwork. I went to an artist who does, imo, great skulls and armor, and I showed him the picture and told him to come up with something inspired by the cover. Attached is a picture of the album and what he came up with for me, the picture is pretty old and taken I think before he finished the background 100% and did some final touchups (artist is Sam Warren in Lancaster, PA). I say go for it!

I had the "to nip or not to nip" conversation with him. I didn't want the clamshells but didn't want full-on nips ONLY because of work (actually, customers, not my employer so much). @suburbanxcore

Book with Scott Sylvia to one shot my stomach at Pagoda City. Last appointment of the day on Friday, "so we don't have to rush." Have a few ideas for what I want him to do, but still have to settle that.

To me this is the trickiest part of being a tattoo collector. You need to express enough of your thoughts to the artist to convey what you're looking for without tying their hands or stepping on their toes. Jeff Gogue has a very interesting video about his back piece and the need to surrender when getting a tattoo... as in trusting your artist and surrendering to their creativity.
