    Tattoo Nightmares

If that is a week old and oozing puss and still bleeding I would definitely see a doctor; that is not normal. Also, A&D ointment should NOT burn.

Made an appointment for next Thursday. Going to get a Sailor Jerry Boston Terrier on my leg. Something close to this except the colors will change a little to match my dog. She is a seal brendle Boston

  3. @Antony hippie Hey...questions: 1) When did you get the tattoo? 2) Where is it located? 3) What have you been doing for aftercare? 4) Is the tattoo warm, red or oozing pus?

  7. My latest piece, started on 9th May by Mr Matt 'Oddboy' Barrat-Jones of Real Art in Leicester, UK. This is the start of a tokay gecko/rainforest half sleeve, a tribute to my adoration of all things scaley and and graduation present to myself. Can't wait for it to be finished at some point in 2013, in the meantime I have hopes to get tattooed by Crispy Lennox before he returns to Australia :)

  11. Got this last night at Anthem in Gainesville FL, from the Last Sparrow board's own Tim Strating. Pic doesn't do the colors justice. Could not be happier.

  13. Got more work done on the Sleeve of Science. Last week was adding the Abacus, and lots of background elements (blood lines for more smoke, some galaxies, line work for planets, etc). Abacus from elbow ditch to just below armpit was not the most fun. This week was the entire chest panel: (large version in the album, or you can click on the one above). This was done yesterday, so, obviously, imagine all the blues to be properly muted when it is healed (some of the same blues used in the wolf coverup on the other chest panel). Good news: As long as this heals properly, I never "have" to get tattooed on my chest ever again!

  14. Chris Smith (Deluxe Tattoo) did this on me a little over two weeks ago... More or less healed now, bar some of the red on the kneecap still being a little raised up.

  19. Well, I'm just back from Chicago after an overnight flight. Went to bed for a few hours but feeling pretty wrecked. But probably not as wrecked as the couple who were sitting a row away from me on the plane and were traveling with a 2 year old. This kid must have made a pact with himself at the beginning of the flight, and been like 'dude, this is my first time on the aeroplane, I ain't going to sleep - hell no!'. Which was grand for the first five or six hours but by the end of the flight he was so hysterical with tiredness that he's gone completely apeshit. I think if he were an adult he would have been tied up with seatbelts. He went full on exorcist, getting sick, throwing milk bottles, slapping his mom and flipping a tray of food over his sister. It was awesome in that (1) I wasn't trying to sleep (2) he wasn't my kid (3) he didn't target me with any thrown objects. Seriously though, I felt sorry for his parents- you can see how people get worn down and end up doing something counterproductive out of frustration in that situation. Anyway, babbling slightly here. The tattoo-related news is that my right knee is all done by Chris Smith at Deluxe Tattoo. It's trad style, it looks to be healing well and I'll get the obligatory pic up in a couple of days when it's settled down (it was done on Friday). This is a bit random, but they've got one of the coolest signs hanging outside of any shop I've been in:- I'm going to post up in one of the aftercare threads also, about an aftercare approach based on a product that was new to me- tegaderm. Pretty interesting stuff.

  20. Spider Murphy's has some pretty sweet appointment cards, for what it's worth. Some pics (these are from an appointment I made last year that I, sadly, had to cancel; I should be going back soon since I have a new job and some money): And to keep this post on topic, what are you getting done at Frith Street, @jade1955 ?

  23. Well, here's some progress. Probably only got one session left (touchups, getting some brighter purple on the bottom lady's robes, all that jazz). A long, long way from where it was 9 months ago :D As always, artist is Rachi Brains at Black Throne (ETA: somehow I always stuff up these attachments... click to embiggen)

  24. Great time getting tattooed by Valerie yesterday. It really comes through how much she and Stewart care about what they're doing. Weird moment recognising the guy from Stewart's blog with the Saga/Reinke sleeves - those are some awesome looking tattoos (sorry if I'm being weird again and you're reading this, ha!).

  27. I've been lurking here for a solid 8-9 months now, not heavily tattooed, just getting started. I'm working my way down one arm right now, but due to being a grad student, it will be a while before I'm finished. Started with this by your own Mario Desa back in November: Got this Dietzel flash from Nick Colella in March: Also have a little Sailor Jerry butterfly that I got from Mario on the same day as the gypsy, but I don't have a picture of it. Sorry if these aren't as recent as stuff people normally post, but I wanted to contribute.

  28. Here's my half sleeve in progress. Half shaded and the inside of the arm has nothing on it yet. By Frej Lind @ Royal Arch Tattoo in Västerås, Sweden. My next appointments are to get this side of the arm finished up and also one with Deno at Stockholm Inkbash in august. He's giving me a monkey contemplating a human skull. It's going to be fun!
