I also chose a Canadian (Montreal) artist for my sleeve. I made multiple trips with no issues. Upon crossing the border, I recall even mentioning I was there to get tattooed. The only follow up question I got was “aren’t there any good tattoo artists in the US?” I explained I was looking for a very specific type of Polynesian tattoo and the artist of choice was Canadian. No issues, duties, etc. I think they are really only worried about bringing in a large amount of purchased goods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys, i just got this new tattoo on my inner bicep to my forearm, it’s a Phoenix (Chinese/Japanese style). What are your opinions? I feel it lacks detail. Should I ask the artist to add more detail? If so, where do you think? Thanks

When my artist does touch ups. I don't pay the usual hourly fee but I enjoy tipping and presenting gifts. Concert tickets, paper towels, bactine, & monster drinks are always cool. When working on a larger piece the idea of one and done dont apply. Waiting 30 days in between sessions allows my old skin to heal and the artist to see small details he would like to improve on. The process and the journey are great when you know the shop staff and your artist. As with most things in life..a little courtesy goes a long way.
