  1. 4 hours to complete a piece that covers half your chest doesn't sound like enough time to do a really good job, but it really depends on how detailed the tattoo is. I'm sure there are some tattooers that could do it, but I want a good tattoo, not a fast tattoo. My advice is to find a good artist and not worry about how fast they are.

I'm back on Horitomo's call list and Steve Byrne is coming to Jacksonville! I'm super psyched!!!! I made a deposit for Steve and am really loving the chance to get something from him without all the travel.

  3. Rubendall and Garver are both like unattainable dreams for me. Imagine getting one to do each knee, I think I'd die right there on the spot. I might see if I can make NYC work for my budget. Anybody else with any suggestions since my travel net has been broadened?

  4. Day 1 of 2 down with Chris Crooks in Belfast. We did the lower left leg, tomorrow upper leg to tie into the backpiece. Will keep you posted.

  5. It wasn't as awesome as it could have been, but it sure could have gone shitty quick. Some of us from the Knoxville area have a New Year's tradition of riding (mainly GoldWings) to Dupont Lodge at Cumberland Falls State Park for lunch. Today was forecast high in the low 20s, but no precipitation was mentioned. We all have heated gear, so Charlie and I met at 9:30 for the ~80 mile ride from our meeting point. We took 2-lane backroads as they are more "interesting". About 40 miles in it was getting bad as there was a constant light snow shower that blew around on the roads, and I was eventually searching out tire tracks until we reached another interstate crossing in Jellico, TN. We got on the slab to our exit for the park road, where it was obvious (spinning and fishtailing is NO FUN on a 900 pound bike!) that we'd have to turn back. All in all, I had good ride with my friend, and got to see my temperature display "- -", which is Honda's way of saying "you fool! It's below 14 F!". And also learned new disrespect for the weather guessers as they didn't even mention any snow on the morning news. But we both got home safe, which is pretty awesome considering the possibilities. 6. It's a mental game, you can do this! I'm doing 2 days of backpiece extension on the legs starting tomorrow, I'll update with pictures asap.

  10. As 2017 is ending soon I'll post a final pic of the progress we made on my dragon backpiece this year. First session was march 31st, 7 sessions overall with about 22 to 25h so far. Probably won't be able to keep that pace up in 2018, but let's see how it will turn out... Best wishes and happy new year to everyone

  11. Never had a stencil ready a day or two in advance. I see it when I arrive. That's totally normal.

  12. It can work out for sure! I had a large torso piece done by Chad Koeplinger a few years ago. I travelled a lot for my job and he, of course, was always traveling. So, I started it not knowing how long it would take. We ended up finishing it in just over a years time. 6 1/2 hours total and 5 different quick sessions. It’s a huge piece and Chad is fast, but luckily we did it! I also flew to Switzerland to get tattooed by Filip Leu and we knocked out two big pieces in one day! Good luck and enjoy!

  13. @Gingerninja Considering it's stick and poke and the overall quality of the picture he posted, I'd be surprised if he had it done in a shop at all...
