  2. Howdy everyone! I've been lurking since March. I found the LST forum when I was planning my back piece. The back piece experience thread and the ladies thread were instrumental in my prepping and planning - I especially appreciate the insights of GingerNinja! So thank you GN and everyone else on this forum! My favorite style of tattooing is blackwork and I look forward to being completely covered someday. I'm starting with places that stay covered at the office [emoji12] and will move on from there! I just finished my back piece Saturday and will probably move on to one of my legs by next winter. This was done by Hira Lupe at First Class Tattoo in NYC. I'm not putting my butt on the internet [emoji16]so here is a side view: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. 'Break free' or 'I want to break free' from the Queen song. I actually love this idea - I think I'll but the words on the backburner until I get an idea or the oppurtunity and need to fill a banner. This would really suit the other stuff I've got going on at the moment. That a very good point. I'm hoping 'break free' or 'I want to break free' is timeless enough but I'm still in my early 20s so while I doubt I'll ever hate freddy mercury it is harder for the meaning to evolve than with an image. Thanks for all the help and suggestions! I ended up getting the opportunity to get tattooed at a convention this weekend (big rose on the hip/bottom ribs) so I'm not getting tattooed for a while. Think I'm gonna wait until I want a design with a banner and fill it with these words.

    Halloween Flash Day Tattoos!?

Wondering if anyone else went to a halloween flash event this year? I'd love to see people's experiences and what they got done! Below are my vampire teeth, first arm tattoo on the inside of the bicep. Done by Shannon at Man's Ruin Tattoo in St Kilda, VIC Australia.

    Halloween Flash Day Tattoos!?

I got a Friday the 13th (10/13) tattoo this year this year, that was also my birthday, and an oni on 10/22,but not one actually on Halloween. October is turning out to be "tattoo season" for me and my wife, we seem to get the most tattoos for the last few years in October.

  7. Thats a good one for Halloween flash. I usually ask tattooers when they are doing a "regular" tattoo whether or not they do the Halloween thing. Some really take offense to them, others genuinely seem to like it. I just always want the artists to be happy when they are tattooing me. I believe they will do a better job if they are having fun. Sorry for drudging up an old thread. All this Christmas bullshit has me missing halloween.

    Hello from CR

Hello community! I have been following this forum and I can see that there are some good artists right here. I need a recommendation: I have been working my sleeve this last 2 years or so. ´` My first tattoo was a really sick chess piece on my shoulder: https://ibb.co/ni0yLG So far so good... I think this is the part I screwed up. I'm a forex trader and I wanted something relating to trading so I got the wall street bull with a graph behind (my idea was that the graph got connected with the chess board, but the artist didn't got the idea I believe). Even that I like the piece individual by itself, it does not match with the chess board. This is the picture of the tattoo: https://ibb.co/ht3k0G My last piece that I absolutely love, I worked on it in my forearm: https://ibb.co/jYJUSw Maybe you can get the idea by now. I have been working on an animal sleeve in a full environment. I need one more piece to go on the other side of my forearm and I will have all my arm full, maybe i will just need a background. Now this is my inquiry: I kinda think I screwed it up. Im feeling kinda depressed. My tattoo's don't synchronize with each other. All together looks kinda weird. What can I do to save my arm and have a sick full arm sleeve tattooed?? please help me! Should I get laser on the graph that is behind the bull? Should I cut my arm? Or maybe I should try connecting all this pieces with a good background? If so what's your recommendation? Thank you!

  9. You can see how the tattoo of the poem on my rib cage intersects with my back piece on the left side. I'm into it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I'm going to be the odd woman out - I love all my tattoos including the 11 year old song lyric tattoo that wraps around my right thigh and the 8 year old song lyric tattoo my right forearm. I always feel the rightness of a new tattoo when I look at it and feel more myself now that I have it. Having said that - if you are having such doubts and concerns that you feel the urge to solicit the opinions of Internet strangers, I'd hold off. FWIW, studies show most people's musical tastes don't diverge after age 33 so you could always make it a bday present for your "Jesus year" if that hasn't passed for you yet.

  11. This. And more. I'm glad the lyrics I liked when I was 18-30 aren't on me now.

  13. To me the real question is if you'll like the lyrics as much in 10 years as you do now. Difficult call to make.

  14. Two words in a banner on a traditional rose or something would probably work out.

    Red ink healing question

@Leah3 weeks is still plenty early as far as healing goes, I'd skip the ointment and wait at least 3 more weeks before starting something else... I meant to update this thread sooner, but here's the latest on my red ink saga: The benadryl cream didn't do a whole hell of a lot for me, other than some short-term relief. The next suggestion was witch hazel, which I applied probably daily for several months. Things got better, but only to a point. Granted, I was told to have some applied with a tattoo machine and needle to get it under the skin, but topical application seemed to help. I then visited my local shop, got a new tattoo, and asked this artist if he would do as the first artist (who had a guest spot but lives too far away for me to conveniently follow up with, besides the point but still) suggested and actually tattoo the spot with witch hazel. He graciously obliged, which sparked a conversation with another artist who had a client with a similar problem and suggested rubbing vitamin E oil on the red ink. The witch hazel tattoo helped a lot right away, and once that felt "healed" I began applying vitamin E oil twice a day, then daily, and now every few days. Now, there are still some small spots that are a bit raised/hard, but nothing remotely like it was before. The whole experience has honestly soured my feelings about the tattoo - nothing against the artist or the design, but I can't help but associate it with this 15+ month long healing process... Sorry for the ramble, and hope it didn't come off as too much of a rant. Tattoos!
