  1. Hey, hey, glad to see I'm not the only one that started/continued at an older age. I'd like to think that I'm past the point where I'll regret it later in life. lol Here's a pic of my first. Never have taken the time to get a good one.

  2. Hey all. I just got my first tattoo in August... at the ripe old age of 56. I've always doubted the 'once you get one, you'll want more', until I got one. It's true, I'm already planning my next. Thought it be nice to join up to be able to ask questions and enjoy everyone else's work. John

    New here & to tattoos

Got my first one at 52. I started with a sleeve and I've been working pretty steady for the last 7 years. Now have two sleeves, two chest panels, full back and working up the right leg to tie it in with the chest and back. May wind up with a body suit. All by the same tattooer, Japanese theme. Go big or go home.

  9. Big day today. I have my first specialist appointment for my brain tumor (acoustic neuroma). Hopefully, I will be able to get some direction on whether I can do radiation instead of full on surgery. I am totally getting a ray gun tattoo if I do radiation!

  10. Welcome! At 62, I'm the oldest guy...to post so far. I got my first tattoo just a few weeks before my 61st birthday and my second 6 months later. I have the itch badly at this point but have not found a local artist I want to work with and haven't had any time to really concentrate on an artist and what I want to do for my next. At some point, though, the itch will overcome my patience...............

    Slightly nervous

Maybe you're nervous because it's going to hurt like a bitch ... maybe. What's very sensitive on one person may not hurt bad on someone else. As my artist always says, just because it hurts is no reason not to get tattooed.

    Tipping Question

I sit well. I tip well. I don’t bring drama. You know what that gets me? Back in! I’ve had artists come in hours before the shop opens, stay late and fit me into their otherwise insanely booked schedules. I’m basically commissioning a piece of art from them for every tattoo. I am more than happy to tip!
