  1. 3 hours in the chair last night. Shading is next. Maybe some coloring if time permits.

  2. A little celebration for my last day at work. My beautiful wife and daughter surprised me by meeting me at Vivid Tattoo with a cake. Sarah did her usual fast work to make this happy Kewpie doll for me. On to the next adventure! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk

    first arm piece

Been lurking for a while, first post. The information on this forum is so helpful - thanks to all of you. I've been getting tattooed for over 20 years, starting with the obligatory celtic knot on my ankle in the early 90's (later lasered off). I took a long hiatus from getting tattooed and then dove in with a large back piece from Greg Whitehead in 2014. I'd been considering getting something more visible for a while, but needed to wait until I could fully commit mentally. I'd been following Robert Ryan for a few years on Instagram, love all of his work, and knew I wanted him to do my tattoo. Finally took the plunge last weekend and couldn't be happier. The design is taken from one of his paintings, Bardo Thodol. We left the bottom of the tattoo intentionally open-ended so I can add to it later. Wonderful experience at Electric Tattoo in Asbury Park, great people all around, and VICE was there shooting a documentary on Robert for the Tattoo Age series. My tattoo might be famous! We'll see if it makes it into the final cut. Anyway, great to be here!

  6. hey, im going through the "i just got my first tattoo overthought" phase. I just wanted some input. i know the common response will be, EFF them, do whatever you want. but none the less, its whats stuck in my head. i know lower leg tattoos are about substantially less common than arm and upper body. any idea as to why? i like my tattoo and its location. is it odd that i only have on my leg? i know i cant just come out the gate with several, gotta start somewhere. i have the detrimental WAITING LIST to have my upper arm done... i guess just looking for a little reassurance from the online community. planning to keep the leg traditional style... It's 6 days old. Healing very well

  7. Yeah, she's good to me so I have no complaints. Talk about numbers. Her birthday is one digit off from my late wife's birthday in years, months and days. Sort of like it was meant to be, Fate.

  8. Yep, that piece doesn't have enough contrast. You need to learn something about what a tattoo can be and how it will last. Hang around here for a few months and you should get the idea.

  9. Right on @Colored Guy I just found out that this woman I have been taking dance classes with and I were only born 3 days apart (and her in Holland but who is counting miles) . Very cool that you found someone like that to hang out with.

  10. I have a new girl friend! She's my age, nice looking, we're on the same page with politics and lots of other things. She's also a bit of a gym rat like me and takes care of herself. She digs tattoos and is considering her first one. I'll have to see how it goes, but were having fun. I'm getting a tattoo started tomorrow night and she's going to stop in for a while.

  11. I'm starting a battle royale back piece tomorrow, not my whole back since my shoulders already have work on them. The size is 13" x 13" and hopefully I'll get it lined and partially shaded. The artist made up a composite with the design pasted onto my back.

  13. Ended up getting tattood 2 weeks in a row, got the hourglass done by Jordyn at Classic Tattoo in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. My foot was done by Brittany at Inspiration Ink in Innisfail, Alberta, Canada. So glad both of my feet are now done. I forgot how painful that was [emoji23][emoji24][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Finished off this eagle/snake with Grez a few weeks ago. Hard to get a good photo by myself! Also got this weird reaper from Chad around the same time. For the first time I'm having trouble healing red ink but it's getting there!
